Is anyone, other than myself, obsessed with video game music? As in the majority of the music you listen to comes from Final Fantasy, Blizzard Games, Halo, Bioware games, ect.

I dunno what's going on with me but I have been having the new Final Fantasy versus 13 trailer and Dissidia:Final Fantasy opening on loop in the back ground just to flipin' listen to them. I'll go back to Beyonce and Paramore for A song but then I'm right back to Advent:One-Winded Angel, Passion (all versions that come from Kingdom Hearts), and Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy 6.

    Just felt like askin'...

This is one of many video game music that I like. This one is played to the music of Dr. Mario. But this one is special for my first friend is my brother, who passed away to cancer in 2007. It's a nice one, please do enjoy. icon_smile.gif

I used to listen and be really into video game music! I was able to recreate some of it on piano while I still had access to one ... Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, more of the SNES, PS1, PS2 games. Also love the Jet Grind/Set Radio (Future) soundtrack

Dear gawd! How could I forget jet set radio?! That was awesome stuff. Square-Enix made a similar feel game with the same kinda music called The World Ends With You. It's good stuff. The song "Calling" is fun to listen to.

Yes, though my "obsession" is more of an enjoyment similar to enjoying a film's soundtrack. I've got a fair amount of soundtracks from console and PC games, including music ripped from game resource files. I wish more console soundtracks made their way into the US and Norwegian markets.

You can find lots of publicly available music from Sierra's older games here: http://queststudios.com/

You can also find official video game soundtracks (for purchase) at CDJapan: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/anime/game/index.html

I love the Castlevania and FinalFantasy soundtracks, they're great. And I like anything with big choir pieces.

    I LOVE IT!
If you are a fan of video game music, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you investigate Video Games Live. They tour the globe, and play in cities all video game music with a live symphony orchestra. I have gone the past two years in a row and have tickets when they come again in two months or so. It is truly an amazing show, which includes much more than just the music. Definitely brings out the inner nerd in you, but sooo much fun.

Yeah, I'm so into it! Other than the popular ones like FF, I recommend people check out Guilty Gear's soundtrack, Soul Calibur, Shadow of the Colossus had a few good ones, Suikoden (old old), Metal Gear Solid (a lot of good stuff), Kingdom Hearts even, and Tenchu (ninjas!). I really listen to such more than regular music.

    (raises hand, squarms in chair)

Yes! Yes! Yes! I uh, love it, but what I hate is it is hard to find on OST and if it is, the tracks are like 30 seconds long. i guess that best way to go is to rip....um, anyone want to be a doll and tell me how to do that?

Have you guys ever heard the music from Persona? It's a very artsy game and have modern/ techno music for boss battles and such. One of the dungeons actually has a vocal for a very heavenly feel to the level.

Theres actually a really good group that tours around the world playing video game music. I went to it when they came to Boston a few months back.

They show videogame clips on a big screen, use local musicians to fill out the orchestra, do some skits. It's a good time.

For me, I got chills when they played the warcraft soundtrack. icon_biggrin.gif

I totally agree with you, when I was like 16, I listened to simple and clean (kingdom hearts) non stop, and then I check my boyfriends phone last week and all he has is video game music... and I pretty much enjoyed them all (same as you listed)
