So for the past couple weeks I've been in a kind of rut. Been really tired all the time, unmotivated, etc. I don't know if its the changing seasons, winter going on too long, or what. But I've been trying to break out but haven't been able to. I took a week off working out to try and refresh, but that didn't really help and may have made it worse, I have a week off school and am trying to get some work done I'm behind in, but just seem to sit and stare at it without doing anything. I feel like I need someone to give me a big kick in the ass to get going!

What do you do to get yourself back up and going after a rut?

Ruts suck. But you always get through them. Go do something you enjoy and work through it. Eventually you'll be better. I just got out of a week-long rut. I ended up sleeping through much of it. I was exhausted from working out 5x a week, doing school work 50 hours a week, and trying to fit in a ridic social schedule too. You're prob just tired.

I take a few days to just relax and do nothing... I mean nothing. I just veg in front of the tv watching old movies. Then I pick myself up, do some exercise, and start planning on things to do - even if it is just to get out of the house and go to an actual movie theater.

Ruts DO suck. I'm normally known to my friends as kind of a go-getter so its weird for me to be in a rut. I don't know maybe I just want change. In a few months I'll be graduating with my degree so good for that!

If you have a high sugar intake, cut it off on a saturday. By Tuesday, you should start feeling more energy come back. You may want to add a b-12 supplement if you're not already taking a multi-vitamin.

Very low sugar intake right now, mostly complex carbs. And I take a regular multivitamin.

With me, I would indulge/splurge on something I've always wanted to have/buy/do. I guess you can call it retail theraphy. Just treat yourself with something you've liked but never had the chance/time to do. I've had a few of these moments and all you can do is to make yourself feel better~ whatever it takes.
