This past Tuesday, I went to some extravaganza where 34 different resturants were set up. It's was kind of a taste test. Anyway, the event was $20 dollars a person, but being part of the media, I got in for free. It was basically all you could eat. Chicken and rolls from Texas Roadhouse, Hamburgers from Fudruckers, Chicken from Chicken Express, Salsa and Steak from Outbeak, Champaign and wine, cookies, brownies, ice cream from The Kettle, Bar B Q, you name it, they had it. Anyway, my button to my pants became dangerous about an hour into this event.

So my question is, how much damage did I do to myself? I am normally very careful with what I eat, but I drank so many Dr Peppers and ate so much, I'm still feeling it.

You have to allow yourself certain times to splurge. Now im hungry. I have been to a few functions like that and they are deadly....but it is soooooo good.

    Hey your young...eat up.

I also think you can have a free day and just be normal about it.

To many can be overly obsessive compulsive about diet and eating.

If you work out, stay active and all...you could probably eat like a pig......

    Healthy ?

Ask yourself in a few years...lol

P.S. I have been to charity events like the one you attended...they are fun...but damaging if your training...

Just think of the damage if you hadn't of done: one in particular, you would have been hungry and I'm sure the only one not enjoying himself. There is great danger in becoming a prisoner of your own fitness program: it is supposed to enrich your life not put you on permanent lockdown. Make it a ball and chain and you won't stick with it.

Thanks, now I don't feel as guilty. Boy, my body sure let me know it wasn't pleased though when I woke up at 3 am with terrible heart burn.

I say EAT! If I ever passed up something good and then died in my sleep, I would be majorly pissed waiting in purgatory thinking I should have just eaten the doughnut.

If I'm alive in the morning, I run harder and longer. It's a nasty, frickin'vicious cycle that live.

    YUMM!

You'll be fine. Take a chill pill!

Life is to short to be anal (well, you know what I mean!!! There's good anal and bad anal.)

Your body, and mind, were saying FEED ME. It's o.k.

The sugar will blow by. The alcohol will blow by. You'll be JUST FINE.

I frequently get invited to charity events like that - just pick and choose. You don't have to eat an entire meal at each station; take a nibble here, maybe a nibble there: just the things that really look different and interesting. The kind of stuff you wouldn't normally get every day.

    Pace yourself.

And ditch the Dr Pepper: drink ice water, a wine spritzer, or unsweetened iced tea. You fill up on the garbage too quickly, and it will prevent you from finding the really interesting new stuff you have never tried before..

    Have fun.
