I'll be in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area (staying in St. Pete) from March 10th to 16th. I'm already going to be visiting with ctocity (my partner in crime in the first weight loss challenge) on that Friday, and I've got some activities with my ex, but I'm wondering what else I can to do while I'm there.

    Any suggestions?

The Salvador Dali museum! They have the lobster phone there! I went in middle school and it blew me away. Who'd have thought, one of the best collections of Dali works in St. Petersburg, FL.

I agree! I went there last year, and it was great. Amazing to have that in St. Pete.

Busch Gardens if you like coasters, rides, a kind of safari, some good shows... and a free beer garden (it was when I was there last September)

Look for an investment property, if you like it there.

In Tampa, you can pick up a house there for the price of a car, but the realestate prices are said to drop even lower.icon_idea.gif

Thanks for all the hints. I should also add that I'm looking for all new summer clothes (as I don't fit into my old ones). Where should I go shopping for cool looking bathing suits, shorts and shirts that will show off my new self? Any particular stores/malls?

    Heya Matt-
I used to live in Tampa for 8 years.
I think the others hit some of the high spots.
For shopping, the malls have changed since I lived there, so I'm not sure what to advise. But, the largest mall in the Southeast and one of the 4 largest in the country is in Brandon...near the intersection of Route 60 and I 75, just 10 minutes east of downtown Tampa.

Ybor City rocks...Davis Island and Harbor Island - if you wanna rent an easy to drive boat and take it out to some of the islands...

You could also visit St. Pete Beach and Fort Desoto Park (great beaches, both with gay following)...

    Enjoy your trip!

Make sure you check out Fort Desoto Park, beach was rated best in the country.
