Why on earth do guys wear wool winter ski caps while working out at the gym?

I saw a guy wearing a winter hat while playing volleyball two weeks ago! I think it is a fashion statement. I personally thought he looked a bit ridiculous.

Obviously they're trying to revive the Joe Pesci look from the first Home Alone movie. And I'm sure they're about as bright as his film character, too. icon_razz.gif

I think the wool cap thing is passe' at my gym. A couple summers ago, almost every guy under 25 wore a ski cap or a skull cap while working out. Now it seems they've switched back to baseball caps. icon_lol.gif

    Now the other question remains..

Why do some guys workout in their jeans??

I wore cargo shorts while doing squats once and they ripped right down the back. Good thing I was wearing underwear. I'd NEVER wear jeans to lift weights >_>

Cuz they have a nice body but no hair on their head .. some people permanently wear caps and hats just to keep their hair loss problem away from everyone ..

Haha! Hair loss is not a "problem", lol. Some of us go bald...some of us don't...everyone is different. And, most of the guys wearing the ski caps have plenty of hair so this is not the case.

Is/was it supposed to be some sort of fashion statement at some point?

Yes, you're right, Joe...so few of the cap wearers are actually balding. Yes, it was the previous five minutes of fashion.

Someone else (a professional athlete) will begin wearing something tomorrow. In four years it'll be all you see at the gym.

I have to admit with embarrassment that string tank tops haven't been the style for 15 years, and I still wear one from time-to-time. So, I'm stuck: should I wear the tank or cave in for the multi-layered jogging pants, shorts-pulled-down-to-here over polka-print boxers on top of my Cin2 briefs? With a skull cap.

That's nothing...some dudes at my gym workout in jeans AND work boots.

There's signs all over the gym with dress code regulations that state "no jeans" and "no work boots." It also states, "no thongs"...I'm just waiting for that rule to be broken, lol.

So, there's really no reason behind it other than, "just because?"

I think YOU should be the one to break the thong rule...and send photos, ktnx.

Yup, jeans and thick cotton boxer shorts sticking out. And I've seen guys in work boots, like Joecifer mentioned. I just can't imagine that being too comfortable.

I'm guessing these guys don't want to buy/wear separate clothes for working out. But come on.. a pair of sweat pants and an old t-shirt is all you need.

I've worked out in my jeans once. I was in the locker room when I realized I had forgotten to pack my workout clothes. My gym's near my school in Manhattan, and I wasn't about to take a round trip back to my place in Brooklyn, so... it happens.

I just wish the fashion police would just come in as a SWAT team, take out the fashion offender and leave as quickly as they came.

Doing their job to take away the fashion eyesore!
