    Hey Guys,

Couple of us from UT in Austin are going to Mammoth Mountain's gay ski week called Elevation. It's March 18-22, and we're looking to meet up with some other fun RJer's going. Anyone else going or thinking about it?

I would, but I have more than blown my skiing budget for this winter.

I'm not going but a few of my friends are. It's supposed to be absolutely awesome. The crowd is apparently really athletic and inclusive (I think it's mostly Californians, anyways). Also happens to be a very good-looking crowd. Ok, I hate you now, and am really jealous. Perhaps next year.

I've gone in the past, its awesome, and Mammoth has tons of snow. I might be there again this year, even if just for the weekend. Not sure if I will do the whole party thing or just board for the weekend.

Hey that's awesome, we are staying with some buds from USC at the Sunshine Village condos. Did you buy the party or apres ski passes? Think we are going to pass and just check out the apres ski parties a couple of nights, try to find some fun condo parties too. Intermediate snowboarders here, you??

I think we are just down the street at the La Vista Blanc condos, which is walking distance to some of the Apres Ski parties. Will most likely have a few jacuzzi parties after too! Some in our group got the passes, but me and my other half decided against it since we will pretty much do what you guys are doing. Our condo is huge, so if you know of anyone who needs a place to stay, the loft which sleeps two is available.

Almost two feet of new snow this week, AWESOME! We will be there Wed thru Sun, fyi.

I've been thinking of going- don't have a place to stay since it's just me and myself... are you all staying for all 4 days?

I am cheap, I drive up from SD Fri night and stay in Bishop. Then drive in first thing and hit the slopes, then check into a hotel :-)

I am cheap. But it will be my fifth trip there this summer.

we're staying in the Village, where the Apres Ski parties are held. Will get up there on Wed and try and ski for a half a day, driving home on Sunday. Would love to find some condo parties as well, and if not, throw our own icon_smile.gif

So for those of you dudes who have been to this before, is the Village the area near the ski lifts? Trying to figure out if our condo is close to the Village and apres ski parties. What's the best way to get around to the lifts and parties? Couple of us are flying right into Mammoth and won't have a car.

And its still snowing up there, woohoo!

Well I checked my condo and yours, and it looks like we are both staying very close to the Lakanuki, which is where most of the Apres Ski parties are, but I have no clue where in town we are in relation to the lifts and other stuff. I'm sure there is a really good bus system since our condo owner said we are very close to one of the stops and won't really need the car once we get in. You guys should come by for jacuzzi/beer when you get in Wed night!

I believe sunshine village condos are south of the Village area (where all the parties are), a short ways away. Your place is on Meridian Rd, close to Eagle Lodge (the east side of the mtn where lifts are). You can take the Mammoth Mtn shuttle (bus stops all along your road) to get you around. You should have no prob unless late at night. The Village on the other hand has a gondola that takes you straight to the Mountain. hit me back if you need anything else.

I've never taken the flight in. would be interested in how smooth it goes.

Right on, thanks guys! So I guess I'm a little confused about the apres ski parties. Are they at the base of the mountain like most places or will you take a bus/drive to it after snowboarding? I would think they would be close to the mountain, otherwise what does everyone do with their gear?

10 days out, I'm already pumped about the trip!

Hmmm, great question, don't know the answer to that. I would imagine walking distance to the lifts, but from the Mapquest I can't tell other than the Lakanuki looks very close to my condo (2 blocks away). And if that's the case, we will definitely be doing some apres Apres Ski party jacuzzing!

the apres ski parties are all at the Village. if you're coming directly off the mtn, take the free gondola from Canyon Lodge (the base of the mtn and where lifts are) to the Village.. drops you right there.

OK, did some more digging and Google maps has it all wrong, PD has it right (thanks!)

Here are some pics of maps to help you figure out the condos vs the village areas, gondola, etc. I put a red star where my condo is on the Red Line (#19). You are on the Purple and Green Lines near stop #35, PD is in The Village area.

Ahh dude you ROCK! Sucks we're not closer to the lifts and parties, but guess being on the busline is the next best thing.

    See you in four days!
