I'm messing around with my workout schedule and moving my workouts to the afternoon. I was working out in the morning, which is supposed to be good to get your metabolism kicking in the morning. My time was too short, though, and I didn't want to get up any earlier.

Here's the issue. I want to get my metabolism awake in the morning, because weight is a problem. Is there any weight training exercises I can do each morning to get the system moving?

I mean to say, are there exercises that I can do each day that wont burn out my muscles? Like I probably can't do pull ups every day without over training my back, right?

Just looking for exercises that I can do daily that will warm up my body, get the metabolism moving and can be done in about 20 minutes.

Pushups, pullups, situps, running. All the usual suspects. Dull, boring and effective. Just do one or two of those for the time you have.

Yoga sun salutations are designed for just what you are talking about. General daily body wake up exercise /stretch. .

why don't you try some yoga in the mornings? a simple sun salutation should do it. not weights, but should get the blood pumping.

This would be one of the most frequently asked questions asked by my clients. to get your metabolism burning in the morning EAT BREAKFAST. and a full breakfast at that. Also, I don't know how many times I've told people this, but as human beings, we're wired to adapt to outside stimuli. this means that anything you do to stimulate your body in any way, your body will learn to adapt. Therefore, doing the same exercises everyday, will cause your body to adapt, and you will stop seeing progress after that initial adaptation phase. Exercise shouldn't be a routine, so switch up your exercises frequently. A medium-low intensity run/jog and some stretching should do the trick.
