Hi Guys: what body fat percentage would I need to get down to before my abs start getting defined? Any advice from people who have lost weight and actually gained a 6-pack would be much appreciated. icon_biggrin.gif

I have 8% body fat and my Abs are not defined. Of course... I should be doing more ab workouts then maybe things will start shaping up.

Men will need to get below 10-11% body fat to see the abs
Abs should really pop out at levels of 7-8% body fat
Genetics plays a role and some men need to get below 7%
Of course a certain level of muscular development is needed.

I usually tell folks that I don't have a washboard stomach because 'this is for delicates only' lol and I pat my tummy while saying it. It will get you a laugh along your way to the 6-pack man. Good luck!

It depends on how much body fat you keep subcutaneously
which means how much fat you tend to keep under your skin

This is why certain ethnic groups tend to have better abs
    or are more muscularly defined
