People, younger people especially, actually get their news from him. I like to watch because he is the only news show (albeit fake) that shows the comparisons of past positions with current reality.

yes isnt it strange we have to watch a comedy show to get the real news while the real news is a comedy.

Thoroughly enjoyed, though I'd characterize "real news" more as a tragi-comedy due its unfortunate results.

Honestly, this is my newest favorite Jon Stewart moment. And there are many!!! But this one I can watch repeatedly, even if it's 8-1/2 minutes long.

    what a pawn...

colbert FTW...stewart's too stupid to realize that santelli was arguing against his CNBC anchors...how many times has santelli insulted cramer and his pauper legions...

no matter.. thanks to stewart, santelli's pegged as an idiot, justifying the stimulus 'of hope' (fistpumped by an unaware american public, evidenced by above posters and his audience)..and more bailout money for my stank banker ass..

Love him and his writing staff. They put together a real fine show. Strange that the best modern day news is a parody of a news program.

I don't know, I'm going to be so bold as to say that this guy IS an idiot--and that's my analysis after watching the two clips above. After all, it's my only exposure to this spazz.

He seems to be a catalyst for more unneeded panic (all for the sake of ratings no doubt). And his blanket casting of the average American homeowner caught up in this crisis as a "loser," and as an individual blame-worthy for being too wrapped up in his or her lavish lifestyle, is pathetic and misinformed.

Yeah, he can get fucked in my book.

Also, The Daily Show continues to be the best televised news show going AND John Stewart is my idea of a perfect man (I tried to not let that cloud my judgment here).

Ok, these two quotes from John Stewart got me laughing:

    "It's not like it's rocket science...more like...alchemy..."

    and, the best:

    "F*ck you!"

Don't worry, he's fake. How is it that he complains about what's going on, but then claims to prepare for vacations on our dime? It's what losers do.

i saw the outburst when it was first broadcast and thought it was inappropriate. it also just seemed stupid then. even stupider now that jon stewart has walked all over him.

remind me not to cause mr. stewart to publicly mock me.

Jon Stewart is able to hold up a mirror to hypocrisy.....
    and get it right

Are you listening CNN, FOX. ABC, NBC, CBS?
Very sad that a little COMEDY SHOW can ferret out the stupidity that's out there and the broadcast media whose job it's supposed to be can't

Yeah, I was watching it live too. I was like, "Why didn't you scream the same when Wall Street got bailed out?"

Hypocrisy and greed, the new American values.

No joke. I can't stand getting news from anyone other than Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, Keith Olbermann, or Rachel Maddow.

As a WS veteran I should defend..... WAIT I don't need to defend any of these arrogant assholes. I'd still be employed if the funds raised on WS were used for growing the economy instead of making the arrogant bastards rich. I use to call it wealth extraction in my reports and none of these clown shows discussed it. Example: PE firm raises capital to buy firm A then levers up balance sheet to pay themselves nice big dividend often covering the cost of their initial investment. If CNBC and Jim Cramer had been putting all the wealth extracters in the Hall of Shame the country wouldn't be in such a mess. Then again they wouldn't get so many idiots watching their show thinking they can make FAST money and what good would that do them.

The market was upbeat, but Jon Stewart's relationship with CNBC is anything but. CNN's Jeanne Moos reports.

    I love Jeanne Moos' reports!
