I've been up for a couple hours now listening to music, looking for something that reflects my mood. And so then I got the idea to ask...

What song lyrics describe how you feel right now? It can be just a line, chorus, entire song, whatever you want. Mine would have to be...

If I could only find the answers to the questions in my mind
I wonder could it be my mind's not meant to understand
Maybe I should go with my heart and put my life in your hands
    Surrender to you
    I'm so confused
    So confused

Thy hand, Belinda, darkness shades me,
On thy bosom let me rest,
    More I would, but Death invades me;
Death is now a welcome guest.
When I am laid in earth, May my wrongs create
    No trouble in thy breast;
Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

    Dido and Æneas
    English Baroque opera
    Composer: Henry Purcell
    Librettist: Nahum Tate

    Tool-46 & 2
I feel like evolving and accepting human desire this weekend

    My shadow's
    Shedding skin and
    I've been picking
    Scabs again.
    I'm down
    Digging through
    My old muscles
    Looking for a clue.

I've been crawling on my belly
    Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own confused
    And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in.
I wanna feel the changes coming down.
I wanna know what I've been hiding in

    My shadow.
Change is coming through my shadow.
    My shadow's shedding skin
    I've been picking
    My scabs again.

I've been crawling on my belly
    Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic
    And insecure delusions.

I wanna feel the change consume me,
    Feel the outside turning in.
I wanna feel the metamorphosis and
    Cleansing I've endured within

    My shadow
    Change is coming.
    Now is my time.
    Listen to my muscle memory.
Contemplate what I've been clinging to.
Forty-six and two ahead of me.

I choose to live and to
Grow, take and give and to
Move, learn and love and to
Cry, kill and die and to
    Be paranoid and to
Lie, hate and fear and to
Do what it takes to move through.

I choose to live and to
Lie, kill and give and to
Die, learn and love and to
Do what it takes to step through.

    See my shadow changing,
    Stretching up and over me.
    Soften this old armor.
Hoping I can clear the way
    By stepping through my shadow,
    Coming out the other side.
    Step into the shadow.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me.

So you say it's not OK to be gay, well I think you're just evil
You're just some racist, who can't tie my laces
Your point of view is medieval

    Fuck you (fuck you)
    Fuck you very very much
Cause we hate what you do and we hate your whole crew
So please don't stay in touch
    Fuck you (fuck you)
    Fuck you very very much
Cause your words don't translate and it's getting quite late
So please don't stay in touch
Do you get, do you get a little kick out of being small-minded?
You want to be like your father, it's approval you're after
Well that's not how you find it
Do you, do you really enjoy living a life that's so hateful?
Cause there's a hole where your soul should be
    You're losing control a bit
    And it's really distasteful

    Lily Allen
    Fuck You

    Love is Everything
    Jane Siberry / k.d. lang's version

Maybe it was to learn how to love
Maybe it was to learn how to leave
Maybe it was for the games we played
Maybe it was to learn how to choose
Maybe it was to learn how to lose
Maybe it was for the love we made

Love is everything they said it would be
Love made sweet and sad the same
But love forgot to make me too blind to see
    You're chickening out aren't you?
You're bangin' on the beach like an old tin drum
I can't wait 'til you make
    The whole kingdom come
    So I'm leaving

Maybe it was to learn how to fight
Maybe it was for the lesson in pride
Maybe it was the cowboys' ways
Maybe it was to learn not to lie
Maybe it was to learn how to cry
Maybe it was for the love we made

Love is everything they said it would be
Love made sweet and sad the same
But love forgot to make me too blind to see
    You're chickening out aren't you?
You're bangin' on the beach like an old tin drum
I can't wait 'til you make
    The whole kingdom come
    So I'm leaving

    Fist he turns to you
    Then he turns to her
So you try to hurt him back
But it breaks your body down
So you try to love bigger
    Bigger still
    But it..it's too late

So take a lesson from the strangeness you feel
And know you'll never be the same
And find it in your heart to kneel down and say
    I gave my love didn't I?
    And I gave it big...sometimes
And I gave it in my own sweet time
    I'm just leaving

and even after "all that" - I still believe in the power of love.

    I lived a quiet life
    A stranger to champagne
I never dared to venture out
    To cities of the plain
I'd heard about their way of life
Took it with a pinch of salt
The freedom and the time to play
    A life so easy
    It intrigued me
    When you called to say:

    "Are you gonna go
To the Sodom and Gomorrah Show?
It's got everything you need for your complete
    Entertainment and instruction
    Sun, sex, sin, divine intervention,
    Death and destruction
    The Sodom and Gomorrah show
    Is a once-in-a-lifetime production"

great song by SWITCHFOOT "Dare you to move"

    welcome to the planet
    welcome to existance
    everyones here
    everyones here
    everybodys watching you now
    everybody wiats for you now
    what happens next
    what happens next

    i dare you to move
    i dare you to move
i dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
    i dare you to move
    i dare you to move
    like today never happend
    today never happend before

    welcome to the fallout
    welcome to resistance
    the tension is here
    tension is here
between who you are and who you could be
between how it is and how it should be

maybe redemption has stories to tell
maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
where can you run to escape from yourself
    where you gonna go
    where you gonna go
    salvation is here

    i dare you to move
    i dare you to move
i dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
    i dare you to move
    i dare you to move
    like today never happened
    today never happened
    today never happened
    today never happend before

    SO MANY OPTIONS...

Option1: And if there were no rewards to reap no loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I've chosen here I certainly would have walked away, by now. I must keep reminding myself of this.-TOOL

Option2: If you had a part of me would you take your time- Sufjan Stevens

Option 3: If you've never seen a good time, how would you recognize one? Sinead O'Connor

Option4: Isn't it hard some times, isn't it lonely, how I still hang around here with no one to hold me- Patty Griffin

    Option 5:
I have seen you in various stages of undress.
I have seen you through various states of madness.
I have seen your refractions and I did not recognize you.
I have seen you in various states of madness.

How high your highest of heights? How low are your lows?
How high your highest of heights? How low are your lows?

I am sorry I had nothing left for you.
My mind was willing and my spirit was strong.- Great Lake Swimmers

Opton6: And I told you to be patient and I told you to be kind I told you to be balanced and I told you to be fine and if all your love was wasted then who the hell was i? -Bon Iver

"and my pillow will be surprised when I come home with dry eyes and the mirror on the wall will see that I'm the happiest of them all. No more nights staring at that empty chair, because I know that you'll be sitting there and oh, when I'm at home, yeah, I won't cry like a baby (anymore) cry like a baby (anymore), whooooooaaaaa." - Lesley Gore : Cry Like A Baby

Well I have been in you baby, you have been in me.
and we have been so intimately entwined, and it sure was fine.
I have been in you baby, and you have been in me, so you see, we have been so together I though we would never returned for ever.
you have been in me, and understanderbly, I have been in and out of you, and everywhere you want me to. Yes you know it's true.

Oh little man, there's no time to wash your stinky hand. go head and roll over I'm going in you again, in you again, in you again, in you again. I'm going in you again now.

    Oh, kiss me
Flick your cigarette and then kiss me
Kiss me where your eye won't meet me
Meet me where your mind won't kiss me
Flick your eyes at mine and then hit me
Hit me with your eyes so sweetly
You know you know you know that
    Yes I love you I mean I'd
Love to get to know you

    But do you never wonder?
    No?

    No you girls never know
Oh no, you girls'll never know
    No you girls never know
How you make a boy feel

    It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
    The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin

He says, "Son, can you play me a memory?
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
    When I wore a younger man's clothes"

La la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
    Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As the smile ran away from his face
"Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"

Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talkin' with Davy who's still in the navy
And probably will be for life

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
    Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?"

Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
    Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

It's Sunday and usually a day of pensive reflection for both Bill and myself. Some inner ear listens to the world around us, some inner eye sees what's not apparent. We spend the day orbiting around each other like small suns in a binary synchronicity. We're always delighted and astonished that we can appreciate this and be aware of each other doing so...

    "is it lasting?"
    And in asking
    The sphere becomes a line
    A dotted line
    And to follow it
You must make a jump each time

    A dotted page
    A dotted hillside
    A blast of dots
    A blind reader
    A flock of sheep
    A blast of trumpet shots

Here - all we have here is sky
All the sky is is blue
All that blue is is one more colour now

    A basket of apples
    By the back door
    Beneath the sweater pegs
    The autumn leaves
    Lift along the street
    A pair of dancing legs

    Same as the vendor
    Who likes to sing
    As loudly as he can
    And all he says is
    It suits me fine
    That's the way I am

Here - all we have here ...

I've seen this THING you won't believe
Why it's big - bigger than the biggest trees
    High as the mountains
    Wide as the widest skies
    (and that's both sides)
Well - at least as big as me

    Speak a little softer
    Work a little harder
    Shoot less with more care
    Sing a little sweeter
    And love a little longer
And soon you will be there

Here - all we have here is sky
All the sky is is blue
All that blue is is one more colour now

    These are some reasons
    And same as the seasons
They hold and then they fly
    The goatless ledge
    'neath the honkless geese
    In the speckless sky
    The speckless sky
    I hear you
    I hear you
    I hear you

    All by myself.

    No one to talk with,
But I'm happy on the shelf

    Ain't misbehavin'

I'm playing with my Jack Russell this afternoon and I can't keep this song out of my head!!:

He’s got the fire and the fury
    At his command
Well you don’t have to worry
If you hold on to jesus hand
We’ll all be safe from satan
    When the thunder rolls
Just gotta help me keep the devil
    Way down in the hole
All the angels sing about jesus’ mighty sword
And they’ll shield you with their wings
And keep you close to the lord
    Don’t pay heed to temptation
For his hands are so cold
You gotta help me keep the devil
    Way down in the hole

[I swear Satan has a remote control for this dog. That's way he's so much fun!]

I've had two songs on repeat for the pat week! I have a bad habit of playing songs over and over again until I'm burned out from hearing it.

    Fugazi - "Do You Like"

I won't post the full lyrics but these lines are killing me right now:

    Your eyes like crashing jets
    Fixed in stained glass
    But not religion

    . . .

    I got a question
    Just one question
End of the lesson time for one question
    Awwwww,
    Do you like me?
    Do you like me?
    Do you like me?
Do you like me, I guess?

    Cat Power - "Metal Heart"

    Metal heart you're not hiding
Metal Heart you're not worth a thing

Lyrics from you are my Friend.

Sang by both Sylvester and Patti La Belle.

The thought of you help me carry on.
when I feel all hope is all is hope is gone.
I see the world through brand new eyes.
Your Love hase made me realize.
My future looks bright to me.
All because you are my friend.

I've been loking around and you were here all the time.

This song come to mine when I thinka bout my best friend in Los Angeles.

Armin Van Buren and Ray Wilson

    Yet Another Day

    Somethings disappear inside
Should I try to run away
If I could I would escape you
    I won't argue anymore
I have lost the will to be
Hope you don't think I'm ungrateful

    Why.. (echo why)
    Why are you laughing
Is it something that i said

I don't like this place at all
makes me wonder what im here for
    someone take this pain away
I'm dying to see another day

Close the curtains lock the door
Left my note upon the stair
In hope you wouldn't read it
    Fake emotions in my head
    Everything I've seen and read
Can't begin to find a reason
    Why, why are you laughing
Is it something that I said

I don't like this place at all
Makes me wonder what I'm here for
    Someone take this pain away
    Dying to see another day
And I don't want to be your friend
Or pretend I can fit into
    I'm incensed, I'm blown away
    Dying to see another day

    But more often.

    Round,
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
    Never ending or beginning
    On an ever-spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain
    Or a carnival balloon
    Like a carousel that’s turning
    Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it’s face
And the world is like an apple
    Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it’s own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
    In a half-forgotten dream
Like the ripples from a pebble
    Someone tosses in a stream
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it’s face
And the world is like an apple
    Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle in your head
Why did summer go so quickly?
Was it something that I said?
    Lovers walk along a shore
And leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand?
    Pictures hanging in a hallway
Or the fragment of a song
    Half-remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong?
When you knew that it was over
    Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the colour of her hair?

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
    Never ending or beginning
    On an ever-spinning reel
    As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

"You're a wanker if anyone is" - Say Anything

With you out of my life
    skies are blue
and love is real and true...

    Go away!
    I'm through with you
and all the games you put me through.
Don't you tell me what to do!
    Go away!
    I'm through with you.

    Please, just leave.
You mean nothing more than nothing now to me.
    Please, just leave.
You mean nothing more, you mean nothing to me.
