Do you take green tea/EGCG supplements?

I've ran across a couple of health magazine articles that have given green tea/EGCG high ratings as a weight loss/metabolism supplement when used with proper nutrition and exercise. One said it can provide up to an additional 1-3lb weight loss per week. I've also seen product reviewers on Amazon give some positive statements.

I'm leery of supplements in general, but what I've seen has made me take notice. What are your experiences with it? Do you know of any negatives or side effects? Thanks in advance for your responses - Will :-)

p.s. Through nutrition and exercise alone, I've gone from 291 to 264 in eight weeks (woohoo!), but I've developed this pattern where I only seem to drop weight every other week. Anyone else experience this?

I love green tea. It IS high in antioxidants and the Chinese have used it for centuries for good energy.

In moderation with healthy eating and a good exercise program I believe it will help with overall weight loss/control.

Don't buy the green tea supplements they sell at vitamin stores and malls...Just get a good Japanese-label green tea and brew it at home. I take mine WITHOUT SUGAR OR HONEY. Okay, maybe a spoonful of honey every now and again.

    Good Luck.

I eat green tea about 8-10 times a week. I have 15 pounds in the freezer from some monks in Bagan, Myanmar. I just love the way I feel afterwards. They say if you eat enough of it you stop having periods. I haven't noticed a thing.
