I’m trying to gauge if there is enough interest to put together a RealJock team for the JERSEY SHORE RELAY MARATHON. April 18th, 2009.

The event supports Special Olympics. It's a five leg run from Seaside Heights to Belmar. Legs range from 3.41 to 6.28 miles. The course is primarily along the ocean on boardwalks and ocean front roads. However, there are areas where you will be running with traffic.

Ideally we would need five runners. There is a minimum entry fee of $150 which wouldn’t be a problem. Even if we don’t have the depth to challenge in lowest time, we could go for Best Dressed Team or Most Spirited, LOL.

    Here is some info:

    Time: Saturday, April 18th, 2009 at 8 a.m.

Course: Seaside Heights to Asbury Park

Fees: Team entry: $150 until March 25
    $200 thereafter, individual $30

    Leg 1 - Seaside Heights to Brick Beach 3 - 6.11 Miles.

Leg 2 - Brick Beach (Pioneer Hose Co on Rt 35) to Pt. Pleasant - 6.22 Miles.

Leg 3 - Point Pleasant (Inlet Cafe at North End of Boardwalk) to Manasquan (Gee Gee's on Boardwalk) - 4.2 Miles.

Leg 4 - Manasquan (Gee Gee's) to Belmar (Fishing Club) - 6.28 Miles.

Leg 5 - Belmar (Fishing Club) to Asbury Park - 3.41 Miles.

There will be a giant runner's party at Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Awards in Various Categories to Include: Top Finishers in Each Division, Best Dressed Team, Most Spirited, Surprise Awards, Random Drawings. Long Sleeve T-Shirts to All Participants. Last year had 320 participating teams.

Well this is a site for gay men so we have go look good.

If they had an award for best looking group RJ would win hands down. Of course I'd just be the towel boy.

Toybrain - all of the legs are roughly 5K to 10K. I usually race 5Ks with a few 10Ks thrown in for fun.

    Anyone else?
