Pedaling 165 miles over 2 days down to Key West, Florida in November, to raise money for HIV/AIDS charities. I believe I was the 6th or 7th oldest rider out of 382, and the most physically handicapped. A series of photos is in the Forum SPORTS>CYCLING>Photos posted to 2008 SMART Ride...

    Congratulations, Red Vespa!

As far as fitness goals, I was able to curl a few 40 pound weights in each arm yesterday - a first for me. I've been trying to break the plateau of 25 or sometimes 30 pound arm curls for 10 years. So, I tried 35 and was able to do 10 each...so, I was like, ok, let's try for 40. And, it worked!

It's so exciting to break through this.

So, two weeks ago, hefty week at school.

The Wednesday, I had a big test for my History of the Arab Middle East in the 20th Century class.

The Thursday, I had a research paper due for my Theories in Global Political Economy class, which was worth 40% of our final grade.

I was doing research for the essay all weekend. Studied for my test literally the morning of while waiting outside the exam room.

And i wrote the actual essay the night before, got half way, and then wrote the rest of it in the morning and afternoon of the Thursday, finished writing it at 3:00 pm, went to school and handed it in at 4:10 pm, it was due at 4:00.

    So, the RESULTS:

    Test: A
    EssaY: A+

Whoot! I function well under pressure and in the last minute. Just makes me wonder how well i could manage if i did things ahead of time, lol.

Anyway, that, felt like a pretty good accomplishment to me, lol.

I recently celebrated my 18th anniversary at the Y where I've taught about 3000 hours of fitness classes as a volunteer, one hour at a time. I'm very proud of that.

I have a few recent ones:

    - In December, I made the dean's list for the third straight quarter -- although I swore halfway through the fall I was going to get two Cs...

    - Couple weeks ago got the highest score on my quantum mechanics exam, which I had to study for after getting the worst news I've gotten in my life.

    - Finding out who I am and what I want/don't want in life (in terms of everything--career, relationships, family, etc.)

    - Heading back to the gym, working out everyday and getting into the best shape of my life.

I went back to school to go for the career path of nursing! I am currently taking a chemistry class, and after years of science and math absence and struggling through it, I am earning a B at the moment. I just have to keep my head high and push on through for I know I'll be a nurse.

Of course, the option of fire technology career path is still there.

Well, I just graduated with my bachelors this past December! Which was great considering that I had a hell of a lot going on during that semester that made me want to withdraw, though I'm glad I didn't, now I just need to get around to studying for the GRE so I can take that in the near future, I just needed a break after last semester.
