    Reader

Last week, I asked if you had a message you'd like to send Rush Limbaugh. The response was overwhelming. We received tens of thousands of submissions, and we picked the top five:

"Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure"

"Hope and change cannot be Rush'd"

"Failure is not an option for America's future"

"We can fix America, just don't Rush it"

    "Rush: Say yes to America"
Now, we're putting it up for a vote. Decide which slogan Rush will see in his home town.

The slogan with the most votes will be put on a billboard where Rush can't miss it.

It's up to you to let Rush know that Americans reject his desire to see President Obama -- and our country -- fail.

Vote for your favorite slogan now:

    Thanks,

    Jen

    Executive Director

Seems to me that the Democrats have got to stop talking about this clown. At best they are giving him tons of free publicity, and at worst, giving him more credibility among Republicans.

The RNC chairman had it right the first time. Rush is a tv entertainment figure, and as such is solely about viewership and advertisers. He and his advertisers live and die by how many people get mad at him and talk about him, which explains why he is so incendiary and ugly.

All of us, including the DNC, need to starve the beast--just ignore the hell out of him. We'll be hitting him where he hurts most.

The DNC doesn't fear Rush, they fear a reconstituted RNC. Strengthening Rush (a non-electable figurehead) is their strategy to encourage Republican infighting. It appears to be working.

For several years, Rush (and others) decried the so-called Liberal Media. It actually had an effect on how the media conducted themselves. They began matching any voice they had on a program with a counter, usually Republican, voice to give the appearance of balance. The end-result was that topics having broad popular support (not necessarily liberal) were always treated as though there was an equal number of voices that opposed the idea.

It's a lesson the DNC learned the hard way. So, their strategy: when a politician expresses a contrary idea, their hope is to frame the debate with a question, "Is this what your overlord Rush told you to vote?" It creates a false choice, for those not quick enough to recover: "No, Rush doesn't tell me what to think, he's not my overlord," or "I agree with Rush (he's my overlord)."

Rush and his message will only appeal to die-hard Republicans.

I think driving Rush's "I hope President Obama fails" message home to independents and Democrats only helps to make the Repubs (since they havent been able to repudiate Rush) look like they would rather have the recovery fail and America fail than to relinquish partisan politics.

You are not a US citizen & voter. Will you please shut the hell up regarding things about which you have no direct political interest, no personal knowledge, and no particular competence? Most of us don't stick our noses into the politics of your own country, and I would respectfully appreciate your affording the same courtesy to the citizens of the US.

When American politics stops affecting my country, and they give the world back it's sovereignty. I will only shut up then, and not before! Look at the recession America has given the world, that is effecting some Aussies too.

Oh did one touch a nerve of truth..

I stand by what I said.

Oh go on, use me as a punching bag for all your frustration.

It's OK for the democrats to insight so much hate, but not a republican to say: he hopes to see a Democrats fail. double standards.

Plus one of my husbands is an American, and he gave me his vote last time. So don't assume I don't have a vote.

While America plays BIG BROTHER. We all have a right in a say, concerning American politics.

ONE of your husbands is an American? And he GAVE you his vote? I think the US Federal government needs to investigate both you and him.

US citizens cannot GIVE their votes to non-citizens, that is a US Federal crime. You would be well advised to speak no more about this.

You do realize that every so often Pattison gets a wild hair up his ass and drops in on all of the threads going just to antagonize and retell his "only fag in the village" schtick, right? It is best ignored unless you want this to continue endlessly. Besides , you just give him more fodder for his homosexuals are so full of hate lectures.

Funny, I didn't realized this was an American only website and only Americans can talk about politics. I was under the illusion that we encouraged freedom of speech for everyone. I guess only Americans can watch the news and become educated about things outside their immediate surroundings. Or is it just because he has a different opinion that you that he shouldn't speak?

Next time you have an opinion on someone that is not an American, maybe you should keep your own mouth shut.

Actually, I do keep my mouth shut. I apply the same rules to myself as I do to others. But when non-Americans offer criticism of the US, I think it's only fair to call them on it.

I don't criticize non-US citizens about their own countries, as Pattison does about the US (well, OK, I do have some issues with French Canadians who trash South Florida, but that is very specific). And so I think your criticism of me fails.

I participated in the same thing and my submission was, "A Rush to Fail."

So of the choices, it's a cinch that I picked "Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure"

why are dems getting all wigged out over Rush? for corn sakes, he's an AM talk radio host. All of the TV news commentaters combined recieve less heat than Rush. Look at Olbermann for example, he says some pretty outragous, racist comments. i'll be the first to admit that i can not stand keith, but as much as i disagree with him, he should still be able to express his views. he also has the right to have any guest he wants on his show. i'd probably watch the show more often if he had as many guests who disagree with him as he does with guests who share the exact same views.

as someone who listens to Rush, he said that he wants Obama to fail because he doesn't want our nation to become a socialist nightmare. FYI: Rush admits he said that comment on purpose, because he knew exactly how people would react. so please, don't make me post that "crybaby" video, again.

What do conservatives know about government? They sure do call on the government-formed and government-accountable military to go to war for energy sources that are regulated by government policies by way of the Energy Department!!

The failure of conservative ideology on the term "government" is that it is always a knee-jerk equation to welfare. In that case, my welfare is YOUR GOD DAMN SAFETY!

Exactly my thought, he's getting exactly what he wants.... free press and the democrats are supplying it. What's the point, democrats hate him and republicans worship him (who knows why).

And video-douche dares call government safety nets an opportunity to suck off of the system. Yes, there are some leeches in society, but don't tell me that Americans, by and large, don't have enough pride in work. When someone is downtrodden, even if he's wrong for it, it's not an opportunity to kick. If you can't empathize with a fellow man and give him an opportunity to make things right again, then we are no better off than we'd like to think of ourselves.

For those who care and for those who could use a hand up.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Let he without sin cast the first stone.
