I actually went to Google maps and searched for this (I don't have anything better to do at midnight on a Thu, clearly) but I couldn't find it. Meaning, I searched for this naval base and couldn't find these buildings.

Is this untrue or am I not looking at the right place?

Doh! No biggy. Don't you think China, the Soviets, and so on have their own cameras?

    Time to think clearly.

A picture of the base is not new news.

Just for the record Area 51 does not exist. (SIC)

For you guys who think you need to be naked by the pool, understand, privacy is an illusion.

Nah it exists, there's an area 51 there's just nothing of much interest there

But then the government needs some scapegoat to distract the more...intellectually challenged of the populous so it serves a function

You all do know that the swastika is based on a symbol for peace correct? Hitler got everyone thinking it's evil when it's really not meant to be.

And AMT87 is basically correct about Area 57.

I saw that pic in a yahoo article "10 most interesting satellite pictures."

"Supposively" they wanted to make it sysmetrical or something like that. Meaning.... "supposively" the design was unintentional. They are spending a few million to destroy the image though... by adding or subtracting building segments.
