i'm going lean. I lost 12 lbs. of fat by eliminating man made carbs and sugar from my diet and now have gained almost all of it back as muscle. I'm shooting for
    177 lbs.

As of last week the trainers at the gym pegged me at 9% body fat. I did this without the cardio training that many guys say is necessary to strip fat. I have never believed cardio was necessary because my friends run there butts off and stay fat and I want an excuse not to run.

I don't exactly sit in front of the TV all day and I do bike around town and sprint once a week. One change in my workouts is the trainer induced core exercises. I also have discovered push-ups as a really great addition to general fitness.

I 've got a new pic of the lean new me if you are interested. i don't think the jock strap would pass the censor for public posted pics on here.

Very impressive. Personally, I think that everyone's body/metabolism/fitness level is different and not every diet/training routine will have the same effect on everyone, but I think it's cool that you have found a pattern that works for you. My big question for you is how you've maintained/put on muscle with the low carb diet? I find that whenever I try to cut out significant carbs from my diet, I lose energy and consequently my workouts are less intense resulting in muscle loss.

    All about insulin management.

    Calorie management.

    Metabolic activation.

Sounds like you're getting the hang of it.

"As of last week the trainers at the gym pegged me at 9% body fat."

What exactly does "pegged you at" mean?

If it means that they looked at you and guessed... I'd be a little suspicious. People are notoriously bad at that kind of thing. Yes, even if they are trainers.

greg steven tex- The trainers go around pinching/measuring your skin folds at a bunch of places on your body. I have tried to get "dipped" but the testing service is always having technical difficulties when I schedule an appointment.
