Okay, so usually I'm not much into politics and finance, but I just finished reading this article at cnn.com

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/03/13/unemployment.fees/index.html

It's frickin' incredible. I understand there can be some fees in using debit cards, like when using an out-of-network ATM....but to be charged to check in on your account balance or when your card is denied? These are unemployment cards. WTF? Like I said, I'm not much into politics (and, thankfully, I am still employed at the moment) but I think it's shitty. Just wanted to air that out. icon_cool.gif

    This ticks me off.
The states involved need to do a better job.
The population needs to become more vocal to its representatives.
    That starts with awareness.
Thanks for putting this out there.

Just don't use that card and wait 10 days for a check. Not a hard problem to avoid.

Masachusetts does direct deposit...entered into your account next day...for free. Sounds like the banks/politicians in the states that are charging fees are getting some sort of kickback.
