Has anyone tried this new feature yet? Is this old news and I'm just now catching up?

I used it for the first time just now and the near euphoric lightness of being that washed over me as I watched someone's posts disappear from a thread was not unlike the completion of a particularly large and painfully overdue bowel movement.

Their posts still do show up when someone else quotes them, but I think this is a fucking fantastic start. smiley dancing Pictures, Images and Photos

Oh........shiiiit. Anybody know how to UN-block your own posts? I just blocked myself for shits and giggles...and now I can't see myself to un-block my posts. Hmmm....they didn't appear to make this technological wonder idiot-proof.

muchmorethanmuscle saidI can see it now as well. Does this apply to all of his posts regardless of what is said in the future or just for that particular thread?

Well, it seems to be blocking new posts as well. My test subject's name has shown up as the last poster on a topic in the main menu, but when I actually open the thread I cannot see his posts.

    Yeah!

Now you can block the people whom you dislike-with-extreme-passion and not have to waste anymore energy on them!

Confession time: I think the thing I find so absolutely thrilling about this is there are several posters on this site that the very worst thing anyone can do to them is ignore them. I am literally giggling with giddiness right now. I think I might have cum a little too. Does that make me a bad person or just incredibly passive aggressive?

The power is going into your head. No, it doesn't make you a bad person, just going crazy with power is all.

oh the insecurity factor has just risen around the world, all of those well written quips can so unceremoniously be ignored now..... do you think they will have a "most ignored" list akin to the "most hot listed" one?

Interesting concept. I don't think I will use it much. I get as much from people who think I am a fucktward as from those that think I am Mother Teresa (hint I am rarely either).

I have never wasted any energy on anyone here. There is a thing called freedom of speech. If you want to ignore someone, it is very easy just skip their posts. It's not rocket science.

This is nothing more than a computer nerd thing. Someone with nothing better to do. It is hard to believe on a website with "Jock" in the title that anyone would need something like this icon_rolleyes.gif

I suggest you look up the meaning of censorship. The ignore function does not actually delete or supress the words of the person being ignored, therefore it is not censorship.

Exactly. By your definition MPP, You would be guilty of censorship if you changed the channel when you didn't like what was on or chose not to read a particular column in the newspaper. It is censorship when it prevents the viewing/reading public at large from seeing it.

Actually, I agree. It's hard enough to follow some threads with missing/deleted members; this could get really confusing.
