I will never categorically say I hate any form of music. I like some country music, but I would put alternative rock, pop and classical ahead of it. I would put country ahead of rap/hip-hop, and I would put rap/hip-hop ahead of polka!

I so categorically hate it that people ask me if Carrie Underwood is hot but I say no but I think it has to do with her music...I am so biased against her already...not sure how would feel if i didn't know about her crap music and saw her walking down the street

Grew up on it, and love it.

I enjoy other types of music as well, but don't you dare touch my radio or you'll be walking.

Not a fan, but don't hate it. Apparantly, those whom listen to Country have a higher rate of suicide too...

I probably an Asian fellow , living on the other side of the world, but country music always appeal to me. Especially those that have something to do with love. Probably I am a country boy in my heart. Those lyric about simple living, the wonder of nature, country side, love story are stuff that really appeal to me.

During my college day, my bf (who originally from Tennesse) will buy good country music by Alan Jackson and a few other. One song "Here in the Real World", kinda describe the unhappy ending of our relationship.

I'm not crazy about country music. Having said that, there a FEW country-pop-ish songs that I don't mind. Think Shania Twain/Carrie Underwood.

The appeal? Let's see, the words of the songs. Those speaking of love, life,, family and country and America. The music of your roots. Since country/folk was around long before rock and other forms like rap.

Perhaps because you don't have to play it at ear drum busting levels of volume to enjoy it. Maybe because you can ask a guy (or girl) onto the dance floor, put your arms around them and slow dance to it (one of my personal favorites).

I think someone who HATES any form of music is a bit wrong in doing so. You may not like it or listen to it, but to hate any artistic form of music seems wrong.

I used to enjoy it in the mid-90's. Then Shania turned me on to pop music haha.

When it comes to music, I am an equal opportunist! As long as something about the lyrics and/or music connects with me, I'm good!

Neither. Don't I have any other choices?! ;-)

Can't stand the new pop-country stuff. Toby Keith is a colossal douchebag.

I like classic country in so far as I was exposed to lots of it when I was a kid (in suburban Boston...whoda thought?). I also like the local country music here in Central Texas. It's more folky and/or rock oriented and tends to be more poetic/storytelling. It blurs heavily with alt-country/Americana. KNBT in New Braunfels, TX is a great radio station.

And Reckless Kelly is hot on so many levels. :-)

I like some of the 60's & 70's but I don't care for the stuff thats around today. It kind of depressing,it's all about losing your man, woman or farm, the crops went bad and the tractor broke down.It just doesn't make me feel good.

    I fall to pieces
Each time I see you again
    I fall to pieces
How can I be just your friend?

I really like some of it Gary Allan, Willie Nelson, Josh Turner, Tim McGraw.

But really really hate a lot of it. Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, Toby Kieth.

But good lord are some of those country singers HOT, combined with their deep voice and tight fitting jeans. I am on board overall.

Well my bijock friend, there are a large variety of country music as options.
Lumping them together doesn't make much sense. You have "original country", you have country pop, which is almost a blend with pop music, you have music without vocals ( like a Flat & Scruggs).. so much more...

Soooo many good artists right now...

An example of country pop, from the 1980's:

A MAJOR hit on my IPOD!

Don't forget Dolly. Love that slut. I have "Jolene" on my ipod right now.

And who's never up for a duet of "Islands in the Stream"? In the mood of some poker? Play me some of the "gambler" good shit.
