Here's mine - in no particular order, apart from their rating.

    5 Stars

Prayers for Bobby - based on a true story, starring Sigourney Weaver. Story about a young lad who's mother finds out he's gay. She's religious. Nuff said! Great for all, does not contain nudity. Tear jerker.
Wedding Wars - This made me LOL, one of the best gay comedies! Family-friendly too.
Brokeback Mountain - didn't we all love this one? lol
Borstal Boy - I was quite surprised by this. It's not just about the main character dealing with being gay, but a member of the IRA terrorist group too. Family friendly ish (a few bare bums).
    C.R.A.Z.Y - subtitled, a great movie!
Trick - an oldie, but still good. Tear jerker.
Fashion Victim - interesting one this, worth watching! (German, subtitled)

    4 Stars

    Get Real
    Shelter
    Boy Culture
    Y Tu Mama También
    The sum of us
    Newcastle
    Latter Days
    Beautiful Thing

    3 Stars

    Clandestinos (subtitled)
    Mambo Italiano

All worth watching - it's really hard to rate them actually !!

I liked Shelter, and I wanna give it 5 stars, but I feel like there were times when it wasn't dramatic enough

Like when his best friend tells him he knows...that was a HUGE deal and should have been a LOT more dramatic. And the main character's sister was missing something---I dont know what.

Clandestinos was good. The main character got me-Im a sucker for attractive guys with an edge, lol

I just watched Shelter tonight and I just have to say "wow". Definitely made it to the top of my favorite movies list. Other than that I've never really watched "gay" movies so I'm interested to check into some more titles....

I just saw Steel Magnolias late last night with two buddies.
I didn't really wanna see it, but, it's such a classic and a well-written script (by a gay man, no less). I love it!

I can quote practically the entire movie. My mother is from Memphis, TN, and I have two older sisters, and the three of them watched this film constantly. Don't get me wrong, I love the film, but it was forced on me and my brother at a very young age.

At the breakfast table, we're always "DRINK the JUICE!"

    Best scene, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IWL24mNqC4&feature=related

I've responded to other similar threads with some lengthy lists, so I won't revisit that. But I have one I'd like to endorse.

Head On. I had only scene it once and remembered very little, but I just bought it last week and have watched it twice. It's very good, but it's not positive or optimistic at all. It's about a Greek young man who was raised in Austrailia (where it is set), and how he cannot come to terms with himself, so his sabotages his chance at happiness at very turn. It's amazing, you should all see it.

The lead actor is hot too.

I think I'm gonna watch Before Night Falls with Javier Bardem tonight or tomorrow. It was a big "gay drama" checkout at Amazon, with these two and Milk.

I absolutely loved Milk. Brilliantly acted, beautiful cinematography, powerful plot line. All around good movie.

There is one movie that I watched a long time ago. First gay movie I saw; I'm pretty sure it is called Funny Felix. It's a French foreign film

I just saw Séraphine today. I don't know if it is considered a gay film. It is a wonderful film based on a true story and one of the main characters is gay. icon_smile.gif

Go see it if you have a chance.

I would probably give it a 4.5 stars. However, I prefer to go see good independent films than blockbuster films, by far, so the type of movies that I like are not typically the type of movies that the main stream like.
