We all sleep so differently! Some people sleep "like a rock" and never wake up, even sleeping through loud noises.

Some (like me) are much lighter sleepers and wake up during the night.

Any sleeping issues? I awoke last night, still groggy, sat up and saw Buddy
(my beagle) lying motionless beside me, seemingly not breathing.. I touched him and he seemed cold. I yelled, "My God" and grabbed him up.
He proceeded to look at me out of a total sleep like "whats your problem"!
I have yelled out while I sleep, but not many other issues.

I know a family who lost their son while on a vacation as he "sleepwalked" right out a window, 6 stories up!!!!

So what kind of a "sleeper" are you? Any issues?

I've sleep walked in the past, and used to talk in my sleep quite a bit. I generally sleep fairly well, best when I'm in bed with someone else.

I don't sleep very much. I slept 5 hours last night, 4 the night before, and 2 the night before that.

I'm a light sleeper when I actually sleep. I've woken up from dreams crying, scream out loud when having nightmares, and used to annoy the hell out of my parents because of my sleepwalking when I was a kid. You can have full conversations with both my father and myself when we're asleep, although apparently what I say makes little sense (hmmm...just like when I'm awake icon_biggrin.gif). I live alone, so I have no idea if I still sleepwalk.

I'd make a lousy fireman - I sleep so soundly, they'd have trouble waking me up at night if there was a fire call. Sometimes though, I toss and turn and can't sleep if I have a tough negotiation going on the next day. The only other time I can't sleep is when I'm with someone new, and he's very hot - like a furnace. The heat of a guy mixed with some anxiety tends to keep me up (no pun intended).

I have heard people who send email while they sleep. That will be really horrible. What if I sent a wrong quotation to my potential customer and they insist my company to honour it. Or give a wrong order to processing department. Can I claim , I was sleeping while sending all this email and dont know what I am doing. Scary thought..isnt it.

I am a very light sleeper like ShawnTx. The only time I get any sleep that is worthwhile is when I am sick. I average 5 hours, but 4 hours is not unheard of. It used to be worse though. Before I went on Cipralex (a mild anti-depressant) I was up all night some nights, and often got only 2 hours sleep.

My older sister was a sleepwalker. Once she beat my other sister and I in a game of "Clue" while sleepwalking. Very weird.

I've been told I talk in my sleep.
Has been a relief to hear that I've never said anything particularly intelligible...just like when I'm awake.

I used to be restless - sometimes a sleepwalker and very regularly a sleep talker.

Once when I was little (luckily my mother was still up) I proceeded to walk to the railing of our 2nd floor which was an open stairwell all the way down 1 1/2 stories. I started to climb over the railing, and luckily my mother grabbed me in time. After that I think they used to lock me in my room...lol

When my partner & I started dating 11 years ago - he would get really mad at me because I would talk or yell in my sleep. He would take it personally if I yelled out something like "Get away from me!" or "I hate you!". Obviously it was someone in my dreams that I was yelling at - but it took some time before me waking him up out of a dead sleep by yelling didn't shock him.

The past year or so I've started taking a combination of Valerian Root (to help you fall asleep) and Melatonin (to help you stay asleep/have a more peaceful night's rest). They've really made a big difference in the quality of my sleep. The Valerian root also helps out in stressful situations, kinda like an all natural alternative to xanax or the like. You take 1 tablet to 'chill out' and 2 to help you fall asleep.

I tend to toss and turn a lot, but usually wake up feeling not so tired.

I have a weird thing, however. I have noticed that when a guy sleeps in my bed with me, I tend to have strange / scary dreams, and don't sleep well. I'm usually pretty eager to hop out of bed in the morning and get the day started since I know I won't be sleeping very well anyway.
However, if I sleep in someone else's bed, i'm almost always so damn comfortable, I want to sleep in til noon with them all the time!

    I'm so weird ....

I'm a light sleeper. When things bother me I suffer from insomnia. I had it for 5 months freshman year of college once. Those bouts mostly ended wheen I came out the following 2 years. I still thrash in my sleep though. I literally kicked my boyfriend out of bed at 3am once. He was kinda pissed.

Oh hey look. My 1000th post.

    Hey Caslon, kiss my butt

it depends- i have usually been a pretty heavy sleeper- amount of light in the room doesn't bother me, nor does background noise, and i have intense dreams; however its always been the case that in the morning, if someone walks in my room, i instantly know it from the second the door opens silently, like a sixth sense. i usually pretend to still be asleep, and when they go away i fall back asleep instantly, but its just an awareness.

i used to sleep walk as a kid- a lot- like every few nights.

i'd wake up downstairs on the couch with the tv on and all the lights turned on

or when i was really little, i'd wake up in an entirely different pair of pajamas, because my mom would follow me around and have to change my clothes when i'd pee myself.
along those lines, i'd pee in weird places while sleepwalking, like down the stairs- poor mom would be up half the night cleaning it up and i'd never remember

An Atomic bomb could go off and I wouldn't wake up. Then again neither would a lot of people, cause their dead icon_razz.gif...

I'm definitely a rock. Though if it get hot under the covers... my pajamas have mysteriously ended up on the floor and not on my person.

I'm also a "roller" and a bed dominator

I'm a very heavy sleeper usually and have never had any trouble falling asleep. Actually if I'm tired and even slightly comfortable I'll probably be out regardless of where I'm at or what I'm doing...friends think I'm a little narcoleptic.

I used to sleep walk and talk a lot when I was younger. It totally freaked out mom because they'd find me all over the house...talking to furniture, sitting in the closet, or going through the kitchen. She was so afraid I'd fall down the long stairwell from my upstairs room but I fell down it more when I was awake....ha.

Generally I sleep pretty well but will often times talk in my sleep. I've been know to sit str8 up in bed and yell at the top of my lungs as well. I'm a mild sleeper meaning that soft noises don't bother me, but if someone were to be talking in a room with their "inside voice," it'd wake me up. Other than that, I've slept walk a handful of times. More so when I was a kid.

I wake up several times during the night. I can't remember the last time I had a full, uninterrupted, nights sleep that didn't involve drinking myself into a stupor.

heavy sleeper, noises don't generally wake me up, I tend to sleep better with someone there, but I think thats just what I'm used too, but I cuddle to much at night.

I talk in my sleep and will once in a blue moon actually sleep walk, usually I get a fork and put it somewhere but the last time I thought I had to go to the gym, so I got up and got ready to go and then went back to bed and wake up in my gym clothes heh

I'll occasionally have nightmares but I'm usually pretty good, just a little tossing and turning, mumbling stuff like that..

Oh I start to wake up if I get to warm, but only wake up if I'm freezing cold.. hehe
