I don't think that people in general are slow, just not mindful at all about other peoples' time. I call this 'being very generous with other peoples' time' and it drives me up a wall.

Try living and working in the Caribbean. I thought South Florida was bad, but it's New York City compared to where I live now. It drives me absolutely insane.

redbull, I know exactly what you mean. I go out of my way in planning when to do things like errands because I know if I don't it will take me twice as long if not longer. I don't know if it has to do with the population rate or what.

It seems I always get behind the car that will not turn on a road from a parking lot because of cars that are not even close to being there.

Then there are those that have to stop their car at a light several feet back. I have been very tempted to pull in front of them and wait until the light turns green. There is usually enough room.

Grocery store: The people that seem to have to take up the entire width of the aisle even if they are alone or stop in the middle of it or worse of all at the entry point to the aisle and look like they forget where they are and just stand there.

Any time in a line it takes five times as long when all you need to do is make a deposit (bank) or give the clerk at the convenience store your money for the gas you want to buy.

No, people that are slower need to be at the back of the herd for the predators.

People tend to live in their own little universe, not caring about anyone or anything outside their little bubble. To me, this is a sign of ignorance and selfishness. I think it's ok to look out for yourself, but not at the expense of others. Courtesy and common sense are concepts that are gradually fading away.

I hate slow drivers. As soon as that light goes green, I'm off quicker than a Jewish foreskin. People who have to think about it drives me nuts.

    To the OP:
I know what you mean. I see people strolling along as if they have all the time in the world. But, I also know that I'm programmed to always be in a hurry, unless I'm at home.
What bugs me is the people who stop in the middle of the sidewalk or the grocery aisle, as if they were the only ones in the world, and as if there was absolutely no possibility that someone might come along and want to get by. And, there I am without my laser gun that would reduce them to a little pile of ash.
    LOL.

I can empathize with the always feeling like you're stuck behind Sunday-driving motherfuckers, but in your particular case-- if your user name is any indication-- you might find a little relief if you were wired on caffeine. icon_wink.gif

I am short but I walk and generally move at a fast pace. Compensation defense mechanism much, me thinks...
The only istance I find myself at a snail's pace is when I feel like...

AMEN... In the suburbs of Chicago, people brake for green lights. Thank God I'm back in the city. However, I do realize that there are times when I need to consciously slow down. I never block a sidewalk/passageway for others, but sometimes it's worth taking a breath and relaxing for oneself. Some people must practice walking slowly though because I can't do it.

So common these days...people at traffic lights who I've passed are texting. On-ramp dawdlers on their cell phones. With a phone pressed to her ear she blocks two lanes of traffic with her awkward merge. I need to outfit my smart car with a fog horn.

I can take it when people move at their own pace. But I have no patience for addicts who think they can drive and manage a phone at the same time.

YAY for road rules here you gotta use a head set here.. mind you its partially ignored.. but its enforced.. now we just need to ban them all together from being used in cars.. ya know it wouldn't be difficult to install technology into cars that makes the damned things useless..... just sayin

I enjoyed being in Italy....Rome at least...
Those guys can get 20 cars thru a left turn at a traffic light on the same cycle Americans can achieve 3-4 cars.

    Culture? Or just driving skill?

OUT OF CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER PEOPLE,
if you feel the urge to stop and pick your nose, or scratch your ass, or try to remember who you are, or why you're here, move over to the right so that other people can get by.
