You are correct: this is an overly long backwards bathrobe. If you need something to lounge around in when it's cold, get a heavy robe.

Oh, lord, I'd roast my butt off in that thing.
    I'm usually too hot, anyway.
I have the windows open all year 'round.
The last thing I need is a bear skin rug to wrap up in...
I suppose it could cut down on heating bills for people who live in the colder climates.

Nice flex, that is a great video. What is our society coming to? And to think it use to be a requirement to dress in formal attire for breakfast during your vacation in many areas. What social progress.

    News Flash!

A bunch of retards decided to get together and have a Snuggie Party!

    Just right in!

They decided to wear it in public and proudly prance around wearing their Snuggies in public and into multiple bars of San Francisco. Showing off how stupid they are by spending good money on a piece of trash that's worn backwards. These people are begging to be egged!

    http://www.nbcbayarea.com/around_town/the_scene/Snuggies-are-Taking-Over-the-World.html

    Stay tuned!

I was once really close to actually buying one. I saw it in a store and thought, "wow, this is the greatest invention since sliced bread - I need this."
Shut up! It's really cold over here, ok.

Now that you have pointed out that it is a backwards bathrobe, I feel like an idiot.
