I want to ask a guy I know out on a double date with a pair of close friends. Is that a good or bad idea?

As a first date? If it were me, when asked I'd say no. I'd ask myself, "Why doesn't he want to go on a date and get to know each other better without the interruption of others." Therefore, my first impression would be "eh?"

If you are trying to keep from getting into boy-trouble... then yes. However, if you are trying to be intimate and learn more about each other... then no.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will go with a more intimate approach.

The group setting would make me feel like it was a friendly thing, rather than a date.

Let us know how it goes

i think its a really cool idea, its less stress and less ackward cuz there wil be more conversation going on. i feel as tho when i hang with my friends AND who ever im dating im more of myself around the guy, and also it lets u know if ur friends and him are compatable wich is a big deal for me

Thanks for the advice. It went well, but there weren't any sparks, but it was nice. Actually it was the first guy I have ever asked out. But again thanks.icon_smile.gif

Um, if it felt weird when you first heard or thought of the idea, than it probably was, if you're seriously question it now, cause you went with your gut feeling then, then maybe you should stay with your previous instincts as well as just have a good time no matter the circumstances! Think of it as a more casual somewhat romantical version of your first days in school/college. Knock em dead!
