Both the Sharks Johathan Cheechoo and the Islanders Rick DiPietro are going to try and shake off/ignore injuries and play for their respective teams in Game 2 on their playoff series.

Cheechoo went down on a very questionable knee-on-knee hit by the Predators' Scott Hartnell in the 2nd period of the Sharks 5-4 double OT win on Wednesday. He also lost a tooth in the hit. He's the Sharks leading goal scorer, with 37 goals this year.

DiPietro is the Islander star goalie who signed a 15-year...YES 15-year....contract last year but has been out for 3 weeks following 2 concussions. He practiced today and may be in on Saturday for the Isles Game 2 vs. the heavily favored Buffalo Sabres.

Hockey players are so tough. A baseball player would go on the 15-day DL for a hangnail.
