Obama with a teleprompter: One sentence=6 seconds. No aaahs

    Obama without a teleprompter: One sentence= + 27 seconds. 17 aaahs

Kinda drags when he does not have his teleprompter. Not great. Not bad. But not a great speaker. He needs his teleprompter. That is why he took 12 with him. 12. Twelve teleprompters with him on his trip.

How about an Obama without a scripted questions & answers press session?

Is this the "new" government that we can expect - totally censored icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, I'll take the question submitted for my approval from Betty with the Your Town County Gazzette... is Betty here, somewhere, Betty?

That just shows he is thinking about what he's saying and that is just his style. I would rather hear 100 ahhs as oppose the deconstruction of the English langauge. Former President Bush jr. had a stuttering problem that came out even when he was speaking with a teleprompter.

OH cum-on on guys, if you were in the spotlight 24/7, with little time to prepare for the next exposure to the media what would you do? Personally I'm quite proud of how this president handles himself and how much better he presents the USA as apposed to the previous cowboy mentality who also used a teleprompter, and was an embarassment to our history in nearly everyway. Count your blessings !!! our standing in the world has vastly improved !! Isn't that a 'change' you can grab ahold of and like!!!!!

Censored what's? What has our current president playyed close to the chest? I think he has pretty much kept us informed with the things that he can inform us about.

Let's not forget the mess that he came into office with. Which he inherited from the pass adminstration.

    Reallifedad.

The US reputation has improved by LEAPS and BOUNDS isn't that what is important as oppose to how he speaks unscripted or with out the use of a teleprompter.

Gone is the" American Bullying" the world.

The packaging and marketing of a US President.
    have a good speech writer
    use consumer testing goups
    specialize in sound bites
travel the States giving the same speech
    always use a teleprompter

I did a test this morning while watching the Obama townhall in Europe, and yes, paint does dry faster than it takes Obama to formulate a answer to audience questions.

Actually, I think he's a very good speaker - he certainly showed that in the debates. I like it when he makes a little down-to-earth reference here and there.

Then again, we've been used to Bush and Kerry, so Obama was bound to look good.

On the teleprompter thing: So what? You think McSame didn't use teleprompters?

This truly is the greatest issue facing our country. Not the economy. Not the two wars. The prompter.

So, Trigger, I need you to investigate a number of issues:

    1) Why is the correct spelling TelePrompTer? Do we really need that many capital letters? Wait - capital letters! That could affect the capital gains tax! GET ON THIS NOW!

    2) Look at this image!
    Teleprompter_schematic.jpg

Yes, it's a prompter, but the colors - green and red! THAT is clearly an attack on Christmas!!!!! Next thing they'll be letting gays marry!

    3) Explain to the world George W. Bush NEVER used a TelePrompTer!! Make sure they understand these thingies on the right and left -

    SOU2007.jpg

    That's not a Prompter - W was usin' a Freedom Reader!

And if Obama did the same, perhaps we'd be out of this dad burn recession!

Please. There aren't bigger issues than this? If it makes him more comfortable, he can use a million prompters.

Here! Here! ...or is that Hear! Hear! Either way, someone who is thoughtful and measured in speech indicates a higher level of intelligence.

aw, thanx- oh, wait... were you referring to obama?

haha jk, i totally agree- besides which, public speaking skills and charisma are sort of requisite to being a national leader... or at the very least, a good one.

Obama's unscripted doesn't flow silky smooth like his prepared speeches, but I never get the impression that he isn't actually thinking about what he's saying. He's still much better than Kerry droning on like TreeBeard in slow motion, or Dubya who's prompter had to be set up for comic book story board format so he could understand it.

BTW, I enjoy the ad popping up in this thread:

    "Teleprompter SALE $799
15" LCD with Big 14" Mirror S/W PCorMac, no one beats our price
    cheapteleprompter.com"

A prompter for under $800 bucks?!?! Ma, break out the credit card - we got ourselves a deal!!! Haha.

We have at least another 4years of this? I'd like to see what the Bush haters says now about Bush not being a good speaker. There are plenty more of these. So I think people owe Bush an apology

I'm convinced now. Impeach him! He's found four gaffes! FOUR! And there might be more!

Come to think of it, I heard Obama use the word "uh" this morning at the G20. That's not even a real word!!!!! He doesn't use real words!

And the bigger problem? Did anyone see NYCNYC's first youtube video? THIS GUY'S MIDDLE NAME IS HUSSEIN!!!!

Get him out. I want that Alaska woman!

actually those "four" gaffes video contain several in each video. And like I said, there are doznes of more if you wan to look on youtube. Second I find it amazing how all of the sudden gaffes are no big deal since Obama now makes them but when Bush made them he was an "idiot" if I recall..right?

Many can say the same for Obama. Matter of opinion.

But any intelligent person knows, no matter who is president they are anything but an "idiot"
