    Whats going on guys!

I have been trolling around a bit on the forum and thought I might formally introduce myself. My name is Chris and I am trying to reach my goal of getting healthy. Wow, that probably sounded like an AA intro.

I have been working out with my buds for the last two months and I have just got into running. Sadly, my little brother passed away about five weeks ago so the urge to get healthy has taken on more value than ever before. It is a cruel realization that life really is short. Dealing with grief is something completely foreign to me, but lifting and doing cardio has cleared my mind and kept me sane through this most difficult of times.

I have not seen any weight loss yet. I have been modifying my diet, but I have not had a kitchen for 4 months thanks to a house fire that rendered our house useless so I have been reaching for healthy alternatives while dining out and making snacks at home. I physically see some serious changes. Shirts that were extremely tight before are actually looking good on me. I am hooked and I hope to get back on the abs diet next week to really help me accelerate the progress I am making.

I look forward to gleaning some of the incredible knowledge housed on this site.

    - Chris

    Hi Chris,

sorry to hear about your younger brother! I think losing a family member is one of the hardest things in life to have to go through. There are alot of good guys on here and alot of good topics and articles and even some decent forums. Sorry about the fire. Try getting a microwave and a hot plate. Avoid processed foods as well as fried stuff. Try and replace soda with water and eat alot of fruits and veggies. After my Dad passed away exercise saved me. It helped me sleep and lifted my mood.

    Good Luck- welcome to RJ.icon_smile.gif

well man I will just give you some info about a few guys, it might come really helpful on here:

MenInLove : This is an amazing couple Doug and Bill under the same profile. You will get the best advises on this forum from them. Usually Doug is more active on here. Just pay deep attention to their words, seriously.

    Caslon:

Watch out!!!! Try to keep your self away from him...just for now...he hates noobs for some reason, and he created himself this rule that no one under 1000 posts can directly talk to him. He is the user with more posts on this site getting close to 10 000 already. He will give every answer with a lolcat. Lolcats and Caslon is like the same thing here on RJ.

    GuiltyGear :

Nice and funny guy, lots of attitude and has something going on with some other user Pattison. Also he REALLY loves anime characters, so if you ever want to say something to him a hot assian girl picture might catch his attention right away icon_wink.gif

    Pattison :

Weird some times, and kinda entertaining on his own way, he might get trashed because of his spelling though...

    Sedative:

Young guy from Philippines, he is very smart and funny in general. He is also one of the guys with more posts on here, and recently he had this thing for a girl and now he thinks he is straight....go figure.

    LilTanker:

Weird guy, smart and friendly but might turn a little pervy sometimes, just keep your junk in a safe place and you'll be fine.

    SILVERFOX:

He is really entertaining, funny guy with spirit, he is been really active on the forum recently and most of his posts are really refreshing. He is likeable, you'll see yourself.

    Zimster:

Oh Dear this is one is hilarious, I just laugh my ass off every single time with this guy. He is probably the funniest guy on here, and seems to be a really nice person.

This is the end of the list so far. Hope you guys add more reviews.

    2 Big moments on RJ

1 - A girl posted on the forum complementing all of us and it was an epic battle among the guys here. A whole drama arose, and many of them got really sensitive because they say this is a site only for guys. In the end they just forgot about it and now it is just history.

2 - "Ignore His Posts" option was added, you can see it under everyone's display picture. This was like throwing a candy in an elementary school class. Everyone started blocking each other, but in the end I think they've calmed down a little bit.

Hoy, Charlitos! To tell you frankly, you delayed my comeback from RJ during my hiatus since I felt that you filled in my shoes --boots, stilettos and all in my absence and I'm glad you did it so well... and look at you now... rolling the red carpet for our noob downeydjman, that's so sweet of you... but you could still learn a thing or two from me... maybe you could use a Dubai holigay yourself? icon_wink.gificon_cool.gificon_lol.gif
To downeydjman, welcome aboard the RJ forums...

    Downeydjman.

Words can't express how badlyI feel for your loss... I can only hope you are able to get by this without permanent damage.

When my Dad died, I had an amazing spiritual experience I would be happy to share with you in private if you like.... it has given me perspective on life and death that has helped me cope with that and the loss of my mother and many friends.

    Welcome to RJ!
It is a unique place... some jerks, some prejudice; racial, Age and religious but also some really good people with sage advice on getting more healthy and fit and life in general.

Actually we are just about back to normal here. I have a microwave, just waiting for the range to come in tomorrow and get it installed. I have been happy to start my day off with oatmeal with blueberries and whey! MMMMM Delicious.

As for the other kind words, thanks to all of you. I am working through all of this emotion and grief one day at a time, but I tell you it is difficult.

I am not dumb, and I understand the situation completely, but it is so hard to let go.
