SO....at 2:30 in the morning I was jolted outta bed by my partner and he grabbed his keys and ran out the door jumped in his car and sped off, apparently someone broke into one of our cars and drove off just as he was waking up.

Cops found nothing and they got away with the car which we were trying to sell. Just had a brand new catalytic converter put in too grrr! icon_cry.gif

Just before the economy started tanking, I saw a blurb that crime rates decrease during economic downturns.
    I don't think that's true.

What? That not only doesnt make any sense, but it is wrong. This is just the time when people are desperate and resort to crime.

In the 90s I had an old car for a hobby - - a classic '66 Lincoln - in near perfect condition. I drove it carefully and kept it in the garage most of the time. One day I picked up some friends from the airport a few miles away and took them to my house. We noticed we were being followed by a couple of thugs in a pickup truck. I thought I lost them - trying a few side streets - but later that night my gorgeous Continental was stolen - right from my garage. Never saw it again. I had bought it from an old family friend and it meant a lot to me. Wouldn't you love to kick the ass of some frickin' thief?!icon_evil.gif

One of the times I had a car stolen was when I was leaving a movie theater after seeing Arachnophobia. I only remember because I made a stupid joke about the spiders stole my car. Anyway, when I got it back it was cleaned out. They must have used a vacuum because not even a speck of dirt was in it. The radio was not in it either or the tires.

The other time I had a car stolen was on New Years Eve.

It sucks having your car stolen. If the cops manage to get it back, it's just not the same anymore. You almost don't want to drive it because you don't know what the thieves did to it.

Here's a tip for anyone that's interested. Install a manual kill switch in your car. And hide the switch in an inconspicuous spot. Or wire it up to something else. Like an acquaintance of mine rigged it up so that you couldn't start the car, unless you pressed the Up switch for the power window.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can do it yourself. Or you can pay a local mechanic to do it for you.

Unlike in this video, I would advise against using the starter circuit. If your car is a manual transmission, the thieves can just roll your car out of the driveway and push start it. Instead, you should use the fuel pump circuit.

Of course, nothing will stop a thief from taking your car if he has a tow truck.

So they found the car icon_lol.gif It was abondoned on the side of the road and they stole the stereo out of it and the plastic around the steering column was all jacked up. Was kind of funny but yesterday while I was still thinking about it I googled "Top Stolen Cars" and bam 1st one on the list 1995 Honda Civic, coincidence? You were right xrichx, you dont wanna drive it or have it around after that...lol
