What do you think of male dancers? Dancing can be pretty athletic, in fact, like sports. The programme 'so you think you can dance' is excellent. And they are hot!

I think many gay men are natural. I am, are you?

i'm a professional dancer, and i can tell you point of fact that most athletes cannot do what dancers do, but that dancers take atheleticism and make it art. yes, we are athletes - we are more than that, in fact.

    case in point:

during one performance i had to climb down a ladder with my back against the wrungs using only my hands. some baseball players said they could do anything i'd done, because they were athletes and i was just a faggy dancer. their coach overheard them and required them to take our beginner class for a week. they couldn't get through the warmup. they said they weren't dancers, and to see if we could keep up with their "demanding" regimen. of the 12 dancers (11 female and me), 9 came across the finish line before a single baseball player did. you have one guess as to who came in first place, and who then went in to take class and followed it up with 4 hours of rehearsal... it was the male dancer.

dancers are absurdly strong. It´s almost inhuman. I have a good friend who is a ballet dancer... now that is body weight exercise.

i always thought gymnasts were a true display of human strength, dancers, id assume are right up there with them. all tose lifts and such.

as for me, dancing, hmm, theres a reason i stick to bars and shy away from clubs.

i was a gymnast before i was dancer: gymnasts are stronger, pound for pound, than just about any other athlete you'd care to name. however, they do not generally have very good flow - they tend to look robotic (to a dancer's eye). trade down some of the bound stregth for a little variety in movement quality and musicality and you get a dancer. icon_smile.gif

Dance, ballet and modern in particular, is supposed to be the most physically demanding sport, second only to American football and that is only because of the tackling.

Jack, I am pea green with envy. I would probably throw myself in front of the entire male company (and probably a few of the women as well). So sad that Lisa Viola has retired - as far as I'm concerned, she and Michael are gods, gods I tellz ya.

Couple of years ago, I was a go-go-dancer for several months. Put me in the best shape of my life. We had to dance 2-3 sets, of a continuous half-hour each. And we had maintain a high level of energy and "enthusiasm" whether the music was good or not. Not an easy gig, but fun (for a while).

I've always been, but I know for a fact it's a genetic trait as far as my dancing ability and quality goes. Only know of two other guys in town whom will actually go out and dance as well as I do, and in as many styles. Never did like the ones that 'could dance' but said they chose not to, so conceided. Also have several maternal cousins whom can also dance naturally; though they got restrained by choreography early in their lives. Such a pity.

You want some hardcore dancing. Go to South America and watch Carnivale. The crazy dancing they do is so physically demanding most people would drop dead within 30 minutes of their warm-up.

They burn crazy amounts of fat and calories.
