    Tea Parties Forever
    By Paul Krugman
    April 12, 2009

Republicans have become embarrassing to watch. And it doesn’t feel right to make fun of crazy people. Better, perhaps, to focus on the real policy debates, which are all among Democrats.

But here’s the thing: the G.O.P. looked as crazy 10 or 15 years ago as it does now. That didn’t stop Republicans from taking control of both Congress and the White House. And they could return to power if the Democrats stumble. So it behooves us to look closely at the state of what is, after all, one of our nation’s two great political parties.

So what’s the implication of the fact that Republicans are refusing to grow up, the fact that they are still behaving the same way they did when history seemed to be on their side? I’d say that it’s good for Democrats, at least in the short run — but it’s bad for the country.

Well said Wadawg. People are always getting wrapped up in their political affiliation and can not find the power to separate from it.

How about HELL to the fuck NO?

This shit is 'organized' (The Republicans are now fractioned, as if that's going to be united again) by whack-jobs-called-right-wing republics, sponsored by Fox News (hello, anti-gay much?).

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/13/opinion/13krugman.html?_r=1

And "Tea-bagging Party?" Man, republicans need to get out more instead of huddling together trying to conspire against everyone with a different thought. Sorry, I'm not a lemming and lemmings die because of suicidal stupidity.

At least lemmings are cute, stupid republicans are not.

What are you protesting? Raising taxes on people making 250K +? The deficit? where were you when W took a surplus and made it a 3 trillion dollar deficit? No tea parties.. just watching Fox News?

I'm going to Starbucks on Wed with my B/F for the great Same Sex Kiss Day. Should be a lot more fun that people still angry that Obama won... and is doing a better job than they hoped.

Why would anyone with half a brain in their head want to do this? There are already signs that the stimulus is working (Wells Fargo predicts record 1st quarter profit of 3 BILLION and expects to repay the TARP money by the end of the year!). Frankly, I look forward to a return of tax rates where they were during the Clinton years. So, the only "teabagging" I'll be doing on Wednesday will not be in public!

This has to be one of the most pathetic forums I have ever seen on RJ icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree whole heartedly with GQjock's quotation that he posted. I just hope that the Republicans will someday soon stop all this bullshit and rejoin our nation. Together we must stand, or divided we will most certainly fall. I know there is a more eloquent quote out there to that effect but my point is there none the less.

Why is it that if someone has a different opinion on an issue they are brainless or a whack job? The world has all types. Find yours but don't hate someone else's.

These forum threads are a love hate thing for me. I enjoy seeing all sides of issues. Sometimes i change my position. I dislike the hatred and insults that people throw at each other for having an opinion.

The opinion of supporting the very people who hate gays is a good enough reason to smack them down. Why would you want to side with them?

They need to see the bigger picture, apparently they don't.

does obama hood and his band of merry tax cheats ring a bell? they love taxing us death, but will be damned if they ever have to pay their own. having a guy who "forgot" to pay his taxes FOR FOUR YEARS incharge of the IRS is like leaving the mice incharge of the cheese. if bush did this, you guys, as well as every other big gov't loving lib, would be all over this story. this is pure 1760's and 1770's style tyranny, that's what these protests are all about. what more will it take for you people to wake up?

LOL! There are so many things that could be said here about how really stupid the repuGlicans are. But just the fact that they are promoting and doing this SPEAKS VOLUMES!!
The saddest thing about this fiasco is the damage and pollution these moronic assholes will cause when some of these repuGlican dolts actually dump tea in the water.

Why don't you smell the coffee at Starbucks and wake up yourself? Bring your partner and kiss for Same Sex Kiss Day instead of wasting it on tea.

Has Obama led this country further into a sinkhole like bush did? No, his trying to get it out by different means. The media and conversative groups are mud fling him and his administration for his doing something out of the norm to HELP this country out.

    And Obama "hood?"

Guess I have not experienced the hate you refer to. I'll stay neutral on that until/if i do.
