Rugby newbie here; just curious if guys had a preference for a brand/style of shorts? I've seen listings for "kiwi" and "english" style of shorts; what's the difference?

Beats the heck out of me. But it seems that rugby shorts are always so SHORT! Gives a guy something to drool over.

We practice next to the Rugby team sometimes. So true. Makes it hard to catch the frsibee.

It seems they almost wear booties with short compression shorts.

They are short so the opposition has less to grab onto, and allow better movement.

I think the only real difference is the country playing. New Zelanders are refered to as Kiwis.

Kiwis - elastic waistband and no fly, english - button fly and draw string. The fit is the same, both cotton, same price usually. I've got no preference. We've got Kiwi style at the moment.

Not sure what the difference is, but there are three inseams I believe: 2" and 5". My club mandated the 2", but you gotta have a way to keep your junk in. Most modest guys, especially straight ones, seem to go for the 5".
