Maybe it's just me, but I always have trouble finding a place AND people to play tennis with. If anyone's interested in hitting a few balls around once in awhile, let me know. I'm not a fantastic player, but I can rally quite well.

I find a lot of the courts are run by private clubs, so you need a membership. I've heard of some gay tennis league in Toronto, but I haven't had a chance to look up the details.

    All are welcome =)

hey, i play on free courts at the trinity bellwoods park b/w queen and dundas. there are others in the area apparently. intermediate level, but with the lack of practice would be less. when the weather's warm, would be looking to start playing again.

I will be playing in the Canadian Gay Open Tennis Tournament in Mid May. I come to Toronto quite often and am pleased to play with anyone who enjoys the sport.

Interesting! I came across this LGBT Tennis Group in Toronto! I didn't know one even existed. It's only $45 to join for the year, so I think I'm gonna do it! A friend of mine said he'd also join. Check out it my fellow Torontonians.

Haha, awesome. This will be my first time joining, but I hope to connect with a few good people. I also hope the summer job that I want doesn't tie me up for the entire summer....

Hello again. I didn't wanna start another identical thread so I thought I'd revive this one...

As the weather warms up here in TO, what are people's tennis plans this summer? I'm thinking of joining the TLGTA tennis league, but was also considering the Trinity College one as well. I'm not really sure what to do.

What I do know though is that I don't want this year to be a flop like last year. With the shittiest summer ever, and my inability to find friends to play with, I think I played maybe 3 times all last summer.

    So, what are your plans?

    Hey Tony et al,

I've been a member of the TLGTA for 4 years. In fact, this Saturday is our annual island picnic (which is a blast). The club is composed a diverse mix of player levels, personalities and backgrounds. It really is a good group of guys.

I live in Oakville and primarily play at Whiteoaks in Mississauga (Lakeshore & Clarkson area). I'm a member and have often brought non-members to the club to hit with. If you live nearby or have a car, message me and we can set up a hit.

I do agree that it can be a challenge to find cool guys to hit with. the more the merrier. I'm about a NTRP 4.0.

    Cheers,

    Alon

Hi. I'm also looking for someone to play tennis with.

I haven't played tennis (or done any exercise) since last summer, so I'm quite rusty.
But if you could be a little patient at the beginning, I should be an okay player.
I started playing tennis in junior high and kept playing through college.

I do not have a car, but I live close to U of T.

I'm also thinking about joining the LGBT tennis group, but I'm a little hesitant to do so without knowing more about what kind of people are there. If anyone can give me info on that, it would be great!

    Thanks,
    Tom
