So i just adopted my MOMO yesterday from the animal shelter and she's my favorite icon_biggrin.gif

At first she would just lay under my bed then after about an hour she made her way to behind my iHome:

then after a few hours behind my iHome she made it to my bed and anytime i would leave the room she would hide under my blankets until i came back

Now she has been sleeping on me all afternoon/ morning
icon_biggrin.gif i have never been so happy before icon_smile.gif

My first pet was a bunny too. I had a dalmatian "Duke" for 13 years, had to put him down 4 yrs ago-----I still miss him.

Right now, I've got 2 cats that were abandoned (Taz & Chub Chub).

i actually just learned that hairballs can be fatal for bunnies icon_sad.gif because it cant be digested so it sits in there stomach and they cant regurgitate it so they die from dehydration icon_sad.gif once it gets to big that is

HEY CHAOS, Congrats on the new addition! Best wishes, I'm glad you did the right thing in adopting your new cat. You hear about all the dogs that are considered for adoption, but cats are overlooked. You did a good thing!
    Congrats.

And we must get CAS to appear and bless this event! LOL

jprichva saidMy first pet was a Siamese cat named Benjamin Schwartz. He was replaced later with another Siamese named Natalie Shapiro. My first dog was a poodle named Beauregard DeBarque.

My late beagle baby girl was Ethel Agnes O'Neill (and I bet no one can tell me who she was named for.)

My lab/dalmatian is Martyn D. Dogg.

Jeff- Your post reads like the Society section of my newspaper.icon_lol.gif

Beatuiful pics....I am glad you are so happy with her.

    But beware...

the time will indeed come, if you are not there from square one!

    funny pictures

I swear my two cats coordinate their positions on the bed to either:
    1) make daddy lay in a zig-zag position, or
    2) make it just plain impossible to lay down the length of the bed at all

My female cat, Bodoni (aka Missy B) is sharing the chair I am in right now. She does this every evening. She loves being crowded in between my leg and the arm of the chair.

cat ... well, my chair is an upholstered Queen Anne wingback chair....hey, it's Virginia....what kind of furniture would you expect...sheesh!

Thank you for sharing that with pics! It was the highlight of my day! icon_biggrin.gif

I hope you both bond well, you seem off to a good start. I've had many cats & dogs, and besides the natural dependency you create by being the food provider, there's another thing I believe brings you closer:

    PLAY WITH HER!

Gentle & non-threatening play, where she wins, lets her know you aren't going to eat her, or harm her in any way. It's also how cats bond among themselves, and establish the social pecking order.

Not that cats are very social creatures, but even an adult cat will seek company & security. Not like the compulsive pack animals that dogs are, cats will nevertheless choose your company when it benefits them. Give her lots to enjoy, and she should enjoy being with you.

Ethel Agnes O'Neill (Neely O'Hara) is a character in Jacqueline Susann's Valley of the Dolls.

But now the question is why did you name Ethel after that character?

So cute!!! Bottle the picture of you two and you'll make a fortune!

Warning: Some kittens LOVE cords! Total NOM NOM City! Do your best to put the cords out of reach or get special cord enclosures from a petstore! And just be ready to accept that some cords cannot be resisted.
My kitten (now a cat) chewed through the power cord for my Mac laptop. Like $200? Oh, then she also found the cord for the earbuds for the iShuffle. Like $100?

    Watch it!

Props to you for taking the time to help and love a fellow creature! My first pet was a sheep dog. I have been thinking of getting my own dog now that I am an independent adult, perhaps a mastiff.
