    if I was a match, yes, its only a kidney, I wanted to donate a lunge but they wouldn't let me cause of my breathing problems icon_sad.gif I'm on the list as a kidney *nods* and for bone marrow

    I'd like to think I'd donate anything I could if I was a match for someone, whether bone marrow or a kidney. It irks me no end that as a gay man I'm not allowed to donate blood. I work in a medical building at UCLA, and I walk by Blood Drive tables frequently, so I have constant reminders.

    i would give one, but as im a match for my brother who was born with kidney damage one day my spare one will be his as his only one is not that great now icon_smile.gif it all good

    I don't think gay people can donate organs unless they meet some specific requirements first.

    The following was taken from an article on About.com:Gaylife
    A man who has had sex with another man anytime since 1977 cannot donate blood, vital organs/tissue or semen.

    This is the rule in the USA. I don't know if other countries have similar rules. I sure hope that the rule can be broken to save someone's life.
