Well, here's my soap box moment. I'm tired of wasting time on sites like this one. I've gotten more out of scrubbing the toilet than on here so I'm going to try my best to stay away. Pics and everything deleted but I just can't quite delete the account.....yet.
Does anyone else feel this way??

I join some of these sites because I enjoy (usually) the forum discussions. And, I've noticed that they go in streaks, where, on some days, there will be all kinds of fun and interesting topics to read about and comment on. Then, on other days, there's a lot of silly nonsense. So, I've learned to keep coming back to see what's here. And, since I belong to several sites, if one of them is boring, I just go to one of the others, then, eventually end up back here. It works for me...

It is a kind of dramatic exit don't you think?

    If you are going.....go.

I think it all depends on what you expected to get out of this site and others like it.

I think your rather complain than be assertive and learn something here.
RJ isn't like any other site at this time. I've never seen you or your profile.
It would be different if one of our long time members made this statement.

    Bon voyage!

Is it 'cos of this reason?

b4jock saidThis is similar to how I feel, Paradis. I tend to not say hi to people though b/c I've learned in the gay world it means you are setting yourself up for disappointment. But people I find attractive look at my profile too and say nothing. Ehh, it's all good in the end. Just wish the online world wasn't so cutthroat.

I think RJ and Facebook and Myspace and Email are all types of communication devices. As with clothes, you have to find the one that fits and makes you feel good about that choice. Personally, I have more fun with my time here than anywhere else.
Best of luck to you on finding the site that feels that comfy to you. Keep looking, you'll find it...icon_cool.gif

I totally agree with this. I ditched Facebook because it's a time-vortex that forces you into a game of holiday snaps one-upmanship with people you used to know at Primary School.

I like RJ though because you get to know people over time and it's a kinda online gay community.

Reputation-based economies. You'd do well to look this phrase up. If you can't hack it on realjock, the future does not look bright for you.

Some of you should step back a moment and re-read what you've written. This is exactly why I don't feel comfortable on RJ. I showed the responses thus far to a few of my real friends (as opposed to "internet" friends), most of whom are straight btw, and they agree that deleting my profile should be an easy decision now. One even said "wow it's true....gay guys really do eat their own". I don't think he meant that in a good way. Are we seriously proud of that reputation?

Peace to those of you who aren't rude. icon_smile.gif
