To be more particular, should I keep the bed which he used solely for himself?

I faced this issue of possessions when my late partner died. Regarding the bed, we slept in the same one, so not your situation. I couldn't use it for months after he died, I slept elsewhere, even though it had been my own bed before we had gotten together. I now have a totally new bed with my new partner. I find beds to be very personal, like wearing someone else's clothes. You might want to sell it or donate it.

I gave away most of his clothes after about a year. All his other things I kept. Unfortunately, they remained in a storage unit that was in the recent Fargo, North Dakota flood, and I presume they were all lost, anyway. I'm still waiting for the waters to recede enough so that a friend there, who has a key, can evaluate the damage for me.
