Yes, I did it. 7K Quarter Marathon..after quitting marathon for years. My time is bad, I am out of breath (have to stop and start walking) and forcing myself to finish line. I am grossly out of shape. There use to be times I run marathon half, quarter and 10k nearly every other week. A Quarter use to be a breeze now a major effort. My calve hurt and my muscle ache.

But I feel good and this times I gonna keep the my motivation alive. It so wonderful to be back on the road with all those runner again .

Anyone else want to share their come back story. Any sport will do...

I have never competely "quit" running, but I once pretty much lost my motivation after a big race. I stopped running for about 4 weeks, and loafed around the house eating too much ice cream. I went home to visit my family and ended up running the local marathon. My time was an awful 4:15. Ever since then I have done a much better job of not allowing a burnout after a race!

Yes, thats the problem. How do you keep your motivation. Sometimes its not our fault. Not laziness or anything. We are to busy, so much other thing disturb our training and routine. The next thing you know, you are out of shape and have to start all over again.
