Sorry, I stopped that when he said she lost because she's a "dumb bitch." Yeah, I don't like how she handled that question he asked, but dumb bitch is what a dumb bitch says.

And BTW Perez, where the hell did you tape that thing? A Motel 6? Is that the best setting you could manage? You must like a lampshade framing your head. And that outfit... PUL-LEEZE! icon_razz.gif

The only thing I like about Perez Hilton is the parody that Jonny McGovern does of him on LOGO TV's "The Big Gay Sketch Show."

Second BTW, is it remotely possible that Miss North Carolina won because she's stunningly beautiful?

What a terrible thing to say he should know better. Please. The man and I use the term loosely has ABSOLUTELY no CLASS! Her nerves clearly got the better of her. Why he was even judge just goes to show just how low the pagent has gone.

First, OP, it warms my heart that you are such a pageant Queen!

Second, I think this whole thing was a set up. The original question was incendiary and Perez Hilton's reaction here is beyond incendiary. Miss California, there was only one way she could have answered that question without getting booed and according to her actual answer, that answer would have been a lie.

The fact that a negatory response in regards to gay marriage was met with boos (eventhough, this was at a beauty pageant, folks), warms my heart, but also disheartens me. It means, that minds are finally open enough to where more states might, not encourage gay marriage, but simply allow its citizens access to all their rights. I can see here, that gays are converging and trying to spread the word in many venues, but making a war against people with an opposing viewpoint is not the answer. The point should not be to make everyone agree with gay marriage in every state, but to get gay marriage in every state. Again, gay people are putting way too much stock in what "straight" society thinks of them. As usual, we are the geeky unpopular kids in High School demanding to be liked. It won't happen, I'm cool with just having all my rights.

I guess if you get passed all the head snapping and wild gesturing, Perez Hilton goes on to explain his point quite well. I like that he says a Miss USA unites not alienates. I agree with him that Miss California's answer did do that, but his presentation, is very off putting and that is no way for us to get our point across. Hopefully, ultimately, we can get what we want, we may be even able to change some minds, but not like that.

To be blunt, Mario Lavandeira's father should have worn a condom. The world would be a much better place if Mario's father would have tossed off in the bathroom and flushed the jiz down the toilet vs. breeding.

As disappointed I am with her answer, I'm glad the question was posed.

Why do you find it necessary to criticize Perez for mocking people and then you go and do the same thing to him? That doesn't make much sense to me. Practice what you preach man. If you don't like his commentary, fine. But, what's his location and/or outfit have to do with anything?

I think it was wrong for him to personally critize her for what she said... especially since he was a judge in the competition. She said what a lot of people say, "I was brought up to believe... blah blah blah."

And who is this goon, Perez Hilton? It is obviously he is gay whoever he is and it appears he let his own bias enter in as a judge.

2007 Miss S Carolina, final contestant, was the WORST response--not this one.

Do unto others, reap what you sow, taste of his own medicine, that sort of thing. He pretends to be a social arbiter, and then produces that monstrosity of a video, which fails both on content and appearance. He's trying to criticize a beauty contest (that he judged), while looking like some rumpled refugee in a cheap hotel, taping his own blather.

Agreed. I saw the clip on the news, and -- right or wrong -- I thought she was rather poised and direct in her response (didn't see the part where her "nerves got to her," though). He was probably already aware of her position, and his question was merely a set up.

IMO, reacting the way PH did serves only to further alienate the gay community from the rest of society. We each have freedom of conscience, and you can bet that calling her a bitch won't do anything more than reinforce her negative views on gay marriage. Tolerance is about respectfully agreeing to disagree, and it goes both ways.

I would be shocked if he is asked to judge another contest. He's known for ambushing people and it will just be a matter of time before the table is turned. He give off the impression that he is a very unhappy person.

Heck how many of our parents believe marriage should be between a man and woman? Mine do you think that I'm not going to curse at my parents for their beliefs. icon_rolleyes.gif

How can someone unite groups of people when you take a stance on contriversal issues?

If she agreed with gay marriage she would have divided groups of people

If she disagreed with gay marriage she would have divided groups of people.

If she declined to comment people would be upset with her for not taking a clear position.

How can anyone win? The other side is happy right now (well those on the other side that watch these shows).

It is all about perspective. And I have begun to wonder, are many gay people... especially those out in the public square... radical?

I didn't like her answer, but I don't like the comments Perez made including the "dumb bitch" response. He could have come across much better....
