OK, suggestions, recommendations, warnings, etc? Thinking of shopping for one today and have NO clue what I want or even if I should get one. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks! icon_rolleyes.gif

LOL! What is the need factor? Is it age related? Have seen all ages use them, but then again, not sure why.

hmmmmm...ok, but I'm assuming, once you cum, even a cock ring wouldn't help, right?

It keeps more blood in the little fella... I don´t know what happens to you after launch off ;) But no, the ring is not going to totally change how your body works.

I like the big metal ones for the kink factor icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks. That said, regarding metal, guess they don't let you try them on in the 'store'...sounds like I should try an adjustable kind, take a measurement or 2 before trying a fixed metal one?icon_confused.gif

    LOL

well the one I am thinking of is one that goes round the shaft and underneath the balls. Gives the whole thing a lift ;)

Then all you need is a jockstrap and bingo hehe

Well, now we're into wardrobe! Sounds like I'd better grab a budd and do this tandem...shopping, that is! Hate to be a novice at the sales counter...red faced and red....well, you get the picture.icon_redface.gif

I don't wear one, but I thought one advantage was to create a bigger basket in your pants. Plus it can be a visual turn-on in bed.

Where I DON'T like a C-ring is on a public nude beach. I guess I'm hopelessly old-fashioned, but I see these naked guys strutting around here, their junk all pushed out with some leather studded contraption, and I find that very inappropriate. Save the kink for the bed, not the beach.

Now if you were a sales clerk and some guy came in to shop for cock rings but openly admitted he didnt know anything about them and asked for help, would you be thinking "what a jerk" about him? Srsly. This makes me think of people who wont go into a gym because they think everybody in the gym is thinking about them. I would want to go into the store with knowledge about cockrings ...or anything else... more because I would be afraid of getting a dumb clerk, than about what the clerk was thinking.

After you spill your load the ring will still keep you hard for a while. It is just mechanics.

When shopping for one, here are two things to look for for first time buyers.

Get one made out of stretchy material. The solid metal ones might be too tight or too big and getting the right size is important to not just your enjoyment, but to you health. No one likes a bruised cock... well, most people don't.

Get a bunch in a few different sizes to find the one that works for you. You can also get an adjustable one. They work like a charm.

When playing with one, put it on when you are semi hard (so you don't swell up from soft to hard and cut off too much circulation). Keep an eye on your cock. Make sure there is no pain, no weird colors, or anything bizarre.

    Have fun. Post pictures.

OK, now I have something to work with. Sounds like the adjustable route is the way to go. Also, appreciate the warning about rainbow cock syndrome...will watch for bruising, too.

This video has a bit about measuring yourself (or someone else, I guess) for a cock ring: http://www.bodyjewelleryshop.com/body_piercing_videos/html/cockrings.html

Also, if you're going into a shop that carries them, you won't be the first guy to come up asking about them with no knowledge. Ask them about them, if they know their store and product they should hopefully be able to get you set up with one that will work quite well for you.

Don't be afraid to walk up to the counter as a newbie if you're in a sex shop, we all start somewhere, but I admit having the internet is a handy pre-shopping tool for when I want to make the purchase in person.

It would prolly be more accurate to measure the length of the string marked and then calculate the diameter of a circle with that perimeter.

also, find a shop with a hot guy working behind the counter...can't hurt, and maybe he will let you try it on, and help you out...you know.

I got three rubber ones... the smallest one nearly cut off circulation permanently. The middle one is OK. I´d need the big one for _Grover_

I think I have a few of those sets. They were given free with other toy purchases. They do the trick... kinda.
