So, out of curiosity, what is your favorite video game system and why?

I am not a big gamer, but over the past few years I have collected a Wii, a PS2, a PS3, an X360 and an old school Nintendo. Of course I also have a 2 Macs, but I dont use them to game. My best friend is addicted to WOW, something I have managed to steer clear of. It runs beautifully on his Mac though. It looks cool at least.

For me, I like my PS3 the best. I think it has great processing power and I use it to play Blu Ray discs. I think the games look great on it, and I have not had any problems with it. My x360 has been sent back to Microsoft twice due to the red ring of death.

So what about the rest of you...? Preferences?

Let's see I've got a PS2, Wii and Xbox360 set up right now, but over the years I've had most consoles.

Right now my fav console os the 360 since, well I like the games that it's got.

I only play on my computer.... Unreal Tournament, WoW, Call of Duty, Assassin Creed are one of the games I kinda play the most.

However my favorite console is Wii, then XBox then PS3. Regardless of how powerful PS3 might be when it comes to generate high quality graphics, I dont really play a game for how it looks like but the "fun" factor added to it. Also I love online gaming.

Favorite videogame ever: The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 1998 - Nintendo 64.

The last console I owned was the original Xbox.

I have the PS2. The original one with the hard drive bay. icon_lol.gif The game library is great. And new games are still coming out on it. Not a bad system even for casual gamers. There's something for everyone.

PS3 is awesome. It has so much potential. But it's lacking momentum right now. I think the lack of PS2 emulation is one factor. Price is another. And relatively small gaming library.

I think Sony is sitting on a potential cash cow here. They own several movie studios with huge movie catalogs. If they would start offering movie rental/streaming with cheap prices, the PS3 would become a very awesome home theater device.

Xbox 360 is pretty good. But it seems like people only buy it for Halo. I really don't hear too much about other games. But I think Xbox Live has video rental and streaming. And of course, you can run XMBC on it. But yeah, the RROD is a real bummer.

All PC gaming (can't wait until I get my Mac for school!). I play WoW, but it seems I never have the time. I loved Fable but I tore apart my X-box and converted it to a linux file server.

The Legend of Zelda: OCARINA OF TIME- N64, Hands down best game of all time. If you haven't played it- u simply haven't played the best game ever made.

Best system of all time.....SNES (super nintendo entertainment system), everything is on that system! Ridiculously good library. I think Wii sells well because you can download all the great SNES games.

PS2 was over hyped...great system but the DVD player and supposed AAA titles didn't impress me much, God of War too linear and repetitive, Shadow of the Colossus felt extremely empty...nothing on ps2 even came close to the quality of the 2 Zelda's on n64.

Right now, my wii is collecting dust and IM KILLIN' Street Fighter 4 on my Xbox360.

Cant wait for The Conduit on wii- june 23rd.

    NERD ALERT! icon_cool.gif

Love my PS2 and 360. I'm love rpgs so Final Fantasy and games like Persona rank up there and I love my fighting games as well so you know Tekken, Street Fighter, Soul Caliber and Guilty Gear are there too.

I hated Xbox because I felt that it focused way too much on realistic visuals and forgot to make something fun. I currently have a PS3 and really like it tho I haven't had much time to use it lately. Luckily, I got a PS3 with backwards capability so I can play my original PS games and buy some of the new PS2 games, as well. Wii I think can be fun, but I just don't want to waste calories on playing a game that allows me to have a real tennis racket, etc.

    good times....sigh

unfortunately those who never played Zelda Ocarina of Time before, even if they give it a try now they will never experience the same feeling as it was back in 1998. However it is still an amazing game to play.

    Hey Charlitos,

You ever play the sequel, Majora's Mask? Its a much more difficult game but awesome music, art style and feeling all the way through-out.

I agree with you to an extent about Ocarina. It is still wildly considered the best game ever made, constantly takes the prize on ign/gamespot. My brother played it for the first time in 2007 and he came to me after completing it and THANKED me for constantly bothering him to play it. He said without a doubt its the best game he has ever played even with its age.

You ever give Wind Waker or Twilight Princess a go?

I like my Xbox360 the best. I used to play Dead or Alive 4 a LOT and I was good, but I stopped after Soul Calibur 4 came out...then I stopped playing Soul Calibur 4, too, lol (darn cheap-ass players lol).

I've played WoW, though I can never work up the stamina for an end-game raid (too much prep, too long, too many people you have to work with), plus I'm a healer so if the party dies I'm the easy scapegoat lol.

I love RPGs and fighting games though. I loved Final Fantasy XII and I'm looking forward to FFXIII. Kingdom Hearts is amazing as well!

I like shooters sometimes (mostly Halo), but I suck at them all the time icon_neutral.gif

    I know.
It was the first real adventure game of it's kind. There just wasn't anything else like it.
    Beautiful visuals and great music.
    Perfect game.

I actually loved Majora's Mask, it had a very interesting story line also better graphics, I cant remember quite well but I think I had to buy an adapter for my N64 so I could play it(same for Donkey Kong 64).

I agree with you that Zelda today is still the best game ever, but this gamers generation have been exposed to a lot already. Many things that back in time I thought were amazing right now they're just ok. I remember it was my birthday's gift: a Nintendo 64 with only 1 game: Zelda Ocarina of Time. When I first started playing it was like wow, oh wow, shit WOW. Right now the game still gets lots of wows but not that many icon_razz.gif

I always hated when people tried to put FF and Zelda at the same level, but youre still not considered my enemy....yet!
