A story at wok to keep me awake. A story of a creature of darkness... but from HIS perspective!

Looking back on it, he's extreemly similar to a Heartless from Kingdom Hearts.

Also I'm writing a D&D Campaign called "Shadows of Eventide" It's horror based, mature, and intense. I'm actually thinking of having a sexually sadistic and sick villain who experiments on people magically, surgically, and sexually (alive or not). This villain will be straight, while I do want to have a gay character in the campaign in the same dungeon as the Player Characters, a prisoner of this sick psychopath, but he's a Paladin of Light, and instrumental in helping the PC's get free.

Thing is, I only want the gay paladin in the game for the one situation. How should I remove him from the picture while outlining his heroic, selfless, righteous nature, without there being too obvious a contrast between him and the villain, even though there IS suppose to be contrast? The villain is a plot-essential returning character however, so I can't actually have the paladin die while taking him out once and for all (although it occurres to me that I can make it SEEM that way)

    Any sugestions?

Working on a sci-fi horror novel, regarding two friends (adoptive brothers; one gay, duh) who's father's died in a local disaster. Years later, the brothers take civilian military jobs and unwittingly discover their town's dirty little secret and the true cause of the death of their fathers.

Actually, I am writing about my life. Total outsider. I was a gay kid when everyone around me was straight. I went to Catholic schools when I came out as an atheist, I am a thinking gay when everyone else is a liberal Democrat. My life is the story of fighting against the mainstream. It continues today. I take the same skills that I used way back when to deal with the inherent homophobia that I run into today. I am not the Stepford Wife gay guy that gays want me to be. So, I end up fighting with them also.

I asked questions back then and I ask questions now. Back then the Catholic Church tried to silence me. Now it is the "liberal" gays. Nobody likes to have the boat rocked. I am a boat rocker by nature. Now, "my" people hate me. So be it. I ask questions. Some people do not like the answers. I will still ask the questions. Their answers usually answer the question.

you mean before I opened this thread? I was in other thread writing this:

    lilTanker saidapproximately two

how many balls I have? your answer was " approximately 2 ", thats actually very accurate!

If you take into consideration that to measure quantity in terms of mass you would need a standard volume value. Being that said, males have always one testicle bigger than the other one; but only one of them might be in correspondence with the standard to count as 1 ball while the other one might have a volume under the standard proportions or vice-versa. Meaning that 2 units of testicles will be over or under the standard to count for 2 complete testicles in a 99% of the cases hence: "approximately 2" is the right answer and in my own case of course is applicable.

however I cant help to wonder how many units of testicles you have....probably not enough to run the experiment.

They hate me but that is fine because it invigorates me.

I will fight straight people all the time and apparently I will keep fighting gay guys also.

Neither accepts me nor likes me. It is the best of both worlds. I say what I say. Like it, love it, or hate it. I really do not care.

What is it that makes you such an outsider in the gay community? That is, if you don't mind my asking.

A novel which I have dubbed My Eternal First Novel. Over the years I have started writing a couple of chapters, stopped, put it aside, destroyed said chapters and started again. So at various times it has been a fantasy, a cozy mystery, an adventure story riffing off of Stagecoach, a fantasy-mystery.

Now it is a comedy about a wild weekend in the country. The main character is a comicbook character of sorts and his name is Doughnut. Writing Chapter 12 right now and suffering from a slight bout of writer's block. Still I am optimistic that this time I will finish it.

Working on my second novel. I'm waiting for some research to come back from a "consultant" friend -- an assistant AG helping me with some criminal law stuff -- so in the meantime I'm rewriting some short stories to get them ready for submission to journals.

A post-conviction Application for Writ of Habeas Corpus. It's sitting on my desk with scant progress. Maybe it would go better if it was a villanelle.

wow, I can't believe there are so many writers on here. (we should start a sexy naked critique group).

I have several books written. They range from picture books to novels. I'm working on the second in my novel series right now.

    I'm mostly a scifi/fantasy guy.

    I also have a blog...but that's all erotic stuff...NONFICTION, might I add.

Working on a 'blognovel'. It's cross-genre metafiction - think Jeanette Winterson, Milan Kundera, and/or Bruce Chatwin - that focuses on a group of friends. It's got a lot going on - psychic detectives, gay love triangles, hidden paternity, social commentary, how we write essays, etc. We'll see. It's the first novel I've written that I actually like. The rest are filed away.

Also, I've a colleague who just published a book of poetry through Kent State who is attempting to get me to put my poetry together for a book.

Currently, I'm playing hooky from writing four project reports that are sliding into the overdue warning zone. If I get caught up with those, there is a bunch of web site copy to work on.

Way over on the back burner, there's a freshman textbook that I started to write. Gradually, I decided to turn it into more of a guide for hobbyists. Now I'm considering that the best way to finish it may be to morph it into a social networking site, and let the audience do all of the work.

Currently on my writing list, in order of personal relevance:

1.) Blog about me freaking out about my upcoming birthday and not knowing what to do, if anything with an assorted list of what I've accomplished in the past year, what I want to do, etc.

2.) Essay entitled, The Dharma of Fight Club - comparing/contrasting themes in the novel and movie to Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life.

3.) A queer spirituality essay for an upcoming anthology with Immanion Press/Megalithica Books.

A bio for my new website/business. It's challenging to write a marketing piece about yourself.
