Help me! I travel with a national broadway tour, and am in a new hotel room every other night. Some hotels have gyms, most don't, and I need some serious work on my so-so body.

Does anyone have any exercises I can do beside my bed other than crunches and pushups!?

i'd recommend getting some stretch cords atthe nearest sporting goods store and packing them in your suitcase. I don't travel as much as you, but having them with me comes in handy.

    Just a suggestion,

If you check out the workouts on this sit it can be used for people who don't have a gym.

You know, you may try the YMCA, they have gyms all over and if you are a member you can generally use your membership at any YMCA facility. Ya might check into that.

Some of the things I do outside a gym are:

leg lifts: Lay on your bed. Put your hands out to steady you. Now keep your legs straight and lift them up and over your head. touch your toes on the bed behind you and hold for a few seconds and then let your legs back down. But let them down slowly! Cuz letting them down slow helps you to build your control. That will help with your lower abdomen and probably some other areas too. LOL, I don’t really get into what everything does.

take a small weight and lay so your arm is hanging over the edge of the bed and your body is parallel to the side of the bed. Now lift your arm up to your hip. Hold it there for a few seconds. then move it out perpendicular to your body. hold it for a few, then slowly let it down to the rest position. Now lift it up, forward this time, parallel to the bed. hold it for a few then move it out to the perpendicular position again. hold it for a few then slowly let it down. (shoulder and back muscles)

running can be done anywhere and all that requires is a pair of shoes. other than that, I have a friend who does broadway tours like that and he generally just goes to the local gym tells them whats up and most of them let him work out for the day for free. most gym communities are really nice like that expecially if they know you arent making much money for your job and that your only going to be in town for a day. another way to do this is just take a tour of a gym most will let you work out for a day before you sign up.

Try TRX, its portable, you have a small bag to pack it with the door anchor. You will always have a body workout in your hotel room.
