My first kickball game is tonight. I'm probably more excited than I should be, but I don't care.

I'm totally with you. Doing sports now has helped me exorcise those demons.

<=== still getz picked last... icon_cry.gif

LMAO! Seriously, I dealt with that as a kid, too. Not only was I the runt of the litter, but my eyesight was terrible, not discovered & corrected until I was nearly 10. So I was hopeless with baseball, not surprisingly, and even just playground punch-ball. I never caught the ball, and always struck out.

Used to crush my spirit to be the last picked, or not picked at all. Then I went into the Army and became a Super Trooper, running circles around all the guys who'd been the high-school jocks. Highest PT scores, best marksman, best everything, eyeglasses and all. They say every dog has its day. icon_biggrin.gif

I'm not sure how far away my own demons lurk, or I wouldn't make such a fuss about these things, all these years later. But I agree with Timberoo, that later successes helped to ease the pain of earlier failures.

Be excitied Timberoo, it shows you care! You are going to kick-ass... and if you happen to miss the ball like Charlie Brown, well, it's okay, lol.

It was fun, took me awhile to get the hang of kicking it and keeping it in bounds. It was lots of fun, though - like very relaxed softball.

TheGuyNextDoor saidOne of the FIRST home runs I ever made was playing kick ball..
The bases were loaded and we brought in 4 points when I kicked that damn thing into the next state... Good times, Good times....
    Miss those days of glory.
Lets make and RJ movie, we'll call it "KickBall" or something like that...icon_eek.gif * sorry Tim, forgive my silly Dodgeball reference*

    I liked Dodgeball.

I'd do a dodgeball league if I could find one.

I wonder if "kickball" in the states is the same thing we play here.

"Kickball" here is sorta like baseball, but played with a soccer ball. Mechanics are the same as baseball. Run around four bases, catching is out, kicking it into the near sides is a foul, touching him with the ball 'outs' him. etc. etc.

Yeah, I suspect in most cases, that would.
