I started lifting again and threw 2 scoops of WHEY into the Blender, as it was whirling around I glanced at the JUG and noticed it expired 01/09. I am not going to throw it out, but was wondering does the WHEY lose its protein consistency over time. Will it make my stomach go in shambles...I Hope not. Any ideas OR better yet KNOWLEDGE about this?

The reason it expires is because the protein breaks down over time. It may not harm you, but it will be a waste of time using it. You missed out on this container.

Only being a few months I wouldn't worry about it, esp if its been kept at a constant temperature (no extreme heat or cold).

Expiration dates are always pretty early as a "just in case." I doubt it has degraded at all only 4 months after expiration.

I did the same thing. Found some old whey protein on the top shelf of the pantry. looks good and fresh. No break down. Is it still good?

as this thread is over three years old, i think that protein is expired enough that we can close it.
