Ishq on Ocean if you like Indian.

Not haute cuisine, but, huge portions of comfort food at Big Pink on Collins, way downtown.

Actually, it's hard to go wrong in South Beach for a decent restaurant. You got your pick and I guess it's just budget that will determine where you want to go.

Back in the mid-90s, when I'd hang out on SoBe, my fave restaurant was Sushi Rock Cafe.

Many places on Lincoln Road Mall. You can dine indoors or on the mall. Just stroll and pick the foods you like. A bit touristy, needless to say, but it can be a great experience.

For simply drinks, I adore the Victor Hotel on Ocean Drive. Go upstairs to the 2nd floor bar. Or the Palace is very gay, and they serve food, overlooking Ocean Drive.

There are all kinds of great places to eat In Sobe...
Lincoln road has all sorts of great choices. I like Sushi Samba and Nexxt is good because ,like cheesecake Factory, they have everything on one menu.
but keep in mind that 99% of the time, gratuity is already added to the check before they give it to you due to the large percentage of european visitors.

Best meal I ever had in the United States was at the restaurant in Hotel Victor. Expensive but worth it.

That's the fun of Ocean Drive. Just walk up and down the street and see what's on the menu. Great area. Depending on what time you go, they may be offering all kinds of discounts

IF budget is not an issue...definitely check out Lofton's at the Versace Mansion on Ocean. It's worth it, but make a reservation if possible!!!

Also try A La Folie on Espanola Way, very nice traditional French cuisine and good wine.

The Palace is worth stopping in for a quick bite, quick drink, take in the scenery and stick around for the entertainment...it's hilarious.

If you're not sure and just want to browse, you can check out all of the restaurants on Ocean Drive. They all have menus at the entrance and there is almost always a 2-4-1 special of some sort.

I've always liked Grill Fish on the corner of Collins and Espanola....nice for dinner. But for a nice snack after checking out the eye candy at the 12th st beach try The Palace or to bring a sandwich back to the beach check out La Sandwicherie on 14th Street a block up from the beach. Someone above also recommended the Big Pink...good place too! Have fun!
PS The 10th St Diner is good for diner food before or after Twist which is around the corner!
