The link above is a feature article about white supremacists that are slowly gathering and growing in memberships during this time and age. They depict their "struggles" during their gatherings like spaghetti night. Now, what are your thoughts in the growing number of white supremacist? Will it continue to increase in numbers or decline?

Let's keep this clean and just open discussion; this wouldn't be a good time to start throwing any form of "hate" on one another... well, except on these guys.

NewsweekThis spring, the Southern Poverty Law Center released its annual "Year in Hate" report, which outlines that in 2008 the number of hate groups rose to 926, up 4 percent from 2007, and 54 percent since 2000. (The SPLC doesn't measure the number of members in the groups.)

Wait, the total number of hate groups rose 54% under the Bush administration and suddenly it is because Obama was elected president AFTER the survey was conducted?

Never mind that a black man took states like Virginia, North Carolina, and Indiana, which have historically had a large Klan presence, in the election and performed better in all Southern states than any other Democrat since LBJ signed Civil Rights legislation into law.

The only evidence that hate groups are actually on the rise due to Obama is anecdotal. This is the sort of crap that popular journalism is made of these days.

I'm not surprised by this at all. A black holding the most powerful job in the country? The ignorant supremacists must be foaming at the mouth. I feel these types of bloody idiots will only increase. (Especially since the repuGlican party is shrinking away.)
I would imagine, or hope anyway, that the secret service, etc.....are aware and have already given this family EXTRA and above protection.
The scary thing to me is that here in Dogpatch, VA even the regular white collar upper crust people, (and yes there are white collar upper crusts in the part of VA I live in (near Roanoke)), are so bitter and resentful of a black holding this position. It's really sad and scary how much hate they seem to have. I hear it at the country club, in stores, etc....
In my office, I have heard some the underlings saying some very unflattering things, on the verge of racist, about Obama and his family. I have since banned all conversation about politics period.
    Cheers, Keith

Since the proportion of white supremacist are increasing, and so will hate-crimes on people on color, do you think further laws of protection will be created? Or present laws given further attention for improvement?
