I currently go to a very low priced gym in the Metro Detroit area ($9 per month/ $39 sign up fee). The amenities are good enough for me and have been very helpful in my athletic developement. The problem is their hours are shit and there are somedays, because of their hours, I can't make it. This is really shitty after I am trying to make it to the gym after I've had a shitty diet day. I really can't afford the typical $30/ month payment for Bally's, Lifetime, etc. Amd YMCA's are still very expensive. If anyone has any information on a place where I can work out for no more than $20.oo/ month please let me know. P.S. I know beggers can't be choosers but I prefer to not have to workout with a bunch of high school kids (I have my reasons, past high school memory anxieties)

I go to Planet Fitness.. several franchises have opened up around SE Michigan and they cost $10 a month and are open 5AM Monday - 9PM Friday ( 24 hours weekdays) and 7AM- 7PM on sat. & sun.

Hope that helps you out a bit icon_smile.gif

    Hey Thanks,
But I heard there is a no grunting policy there. Its very quite and conservative and you can't make much noise.

There is ,but that's to keep the over the top muscle heads from ruining the place.. there are plenty of really built guys that work out there.
Do you really think the excessive grunting is needed to have a good work out? or the throwing down the weights after your set??
It's really distracting to the people that just want to have a good workout.

How ever people want to workout is fine with me. Sometimes I grunt. Not often, but when I do I don't want to be told to leave. I'll keep Planet Fitness in mind though. Thanks
