In Honor of Old Sneakers

So my sister came out to visit me a few weeks ago. I had just got off work riding in the rain, and before she said "It's so great to see you!" she immediately said "Eww, what the hell are you wearing?"

Well, I was wearing my favorite pair of old sneakers. I've been using them for say... about 4 or 5 years. Yes, they're torn up, there might be a hole or six in them, and they're dirty as they come, but come on! I have nice shoes, but why would I ruin them by riding in the rain or working out in them? Maybe girls don't get it, but an old pair of sneakers that have been worn in are comfortable like no other and are an essential item in my fitness life. I know I can't be alone in this.

So in honor of old sneakers everywhere, tell everyone about your pair. Here's a pic of the mine.

Sneaker esthetics aside, what I've found is that the cushioning ability of sneakers/joggers slowly declines with age & wear. You don't realize the cushioning you've been missing until you get a new pair. Do your feet a favor, if not your sister's sensibilities, and try some new ones.

I used to have a pair of all white high tops that I loved, and I could never find another pair like them.
Now, what they call sneakers look more like a pair of multi-colored plastic sports cars.
