Angry Drunks.....Happy Drunks

Know any? Are you one of them? Does a person's real personality come out when they are drunk? Have you ever gotten into a fist fight when you were drunk?

Some guys start to be bitter and cynical when they drink.......others get even happier and more fun .

I witnessed a scene the other night where a drunk guy was getting more and more verbally abusive towards me and ultimately wanted to physically fight. The less attention I gave him, the angrier he got.

    People are strange.

I get all belligerent and brawl when I drink too much, and have the gashes and scars to show for it. It's a good way to burn off the empty beer calories.

But seriously, yeah. I'm a happy drunk right up til I turn around and punch somebody. That's why I don't drink these days. icon_redface.gif

I guess not drinking is easier than going for "anger management".......

Oh, I did that once, years ago. It just made me...mad. I don't actually have anger issues these days -- just a painfully low tolerance for BS and an obnoxious level of self-righteousness when drunk. So I try to avoid putting myself into situations where I know that side of me will surface. *shrugs*

I'll take this thought a step further: that drunken behavior can be influenced by the type of alcohol consumed.

I had a BF who readily admitted that too much gin turned him into a "wounded dog." He could handle other alcohol fairly well, but gin made him ugly, and he'd bite any hand that came near him.

I know all kinds of drunks: happy drunks, silly drunks, exhibitionist drunks, combative drunks, sleepy drunks, angry drunks, sullen drunks and pass-out drunks. And there's a lot more.

Frankly, drunks are not my favorite people. A little alcohol can loosen some people up (that would be me), but too much ruins the party (that would also be me). Adults know their limits, and behave accordingly.

    I'm a toss-off-my-clothes-dance-badly-extra-super-happy-flirty drunk.
Thus, I have a two drink limit when drinking in public places.

Is there a stupid drunk column...

Coz i tend to pick people up, strip, climb down the side of my building, play Frisbee with plates, run through parking barriers, chug a can of aerosol cream and throw up all over someones car ...

    And that's just a few examples icon_neutral.gif

I am a very silly drunk
I start getting the giggles and will laugh at anything
and will be the proverbial man with a lampshade on his head

..... and won't remember a thing the next day icon_eek.gif

I either get really happy or really sleepy. Depends on what's going on around me. (I switched to diet red bull vodka to prevent me from dozing during conversations.) And no matter how drunk I get (even at a BAC of .48 ), I NEVER black out. icon_rolleyes.gif

Makes for an interesting morning after. Lol.

And I have known a lot of angry drunks. (Anyone remember Landon from Real World Philadelphia? I was friends with him and all his friends ... and if you remember his drunk behavior, take that and multiply it by 5 people, and picture me trying to calm them all down. Lol.)

I try to stay away from people who get angry, though ... because my go-to role is damage control, and I usually spend at least an hour of my night trying to diffuse situations. icon_neutral.gif

I'm usually not a happy drunk. I tend to get a lil emotional and mopey, so I don't do it often.

I have an older brother who is a raging alcoholic. I didn't even realize or had exposure to a drunk until about 4.5 years ago... I was pretty clueless until that time.. I just thought he had problems...

I just get clumsy and horny.. like a bad actor in a sit com.
I have been known to get a bit sappy too.
The happy or angry all depends on what I was before I started drinking.

When "drunk" I am a combination of the happy drunk and the silly drunk. The few times I've blacked out I'm much more of an exhibitionist drunk. Have you ever hooked up with someone (i.e. gotten head) and had completely no recollection of it? Well I didn't think it was possible until it happened to me last year icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't really get drunk per se, but it has happened on maybe 2 or 3 occasions. Otherwise, I'm usually a two-glass-of-chardonnay kind of guy (which can still give me a buzz), and if it's potent, or if I'm on an empty stomach, I just get a bit more "up on my soapbox" and tend to lecture people on anything from politics to warp drive theory to how great it is to drive across America, and I often throw in some funny experiences of my own. I'm also a bit flirty as well, but if I feel I'm being snubbed or ignored by those around me, I can get a bit morose, at which time I usually go off by myself and find something quiet to do or something interesting to look at.

I grew up with alcoholics, not fun. I assumed that all drunks were angry, happy, and then sad, on a continuous loop until they passed out. icon_cool.gif

I'm a happy drunk and the only thing that makes me an angry drunk is having to deal with a mean-spirited, angry, or overly provocative drunk.

Tequila makes me the happiest drunk.
