Just got word that I got "hired" as an intern in Washington DC, from beginning of August through September.

Anyone in the DC area know of some co-op student housing, or a good place to look?

You might be able to find a summer sublet on Craigslist:

    haha! Nice one McGay!!

Um...as far as housing goes.... it does depend on where you're living, if you mind a commute....

I dont know of any 'co-op' housing specifically for summer interns- BUT, you'll be glad to know that there are a TON of people who sublet their housese/apts for the summer.

Craigslist is probably your best bet.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions - I live in the city and know it very well!

lol...as a matter of fact I'll be working with gay Republicans. Got an internship at the Log Cabin Republicans.

I kinda looked through Craigslist today and I don't think I'll be looking in DC proper...$700 for a room for a month is kinda ridiculous. Somewhere in Virginia near a Metro station is cool.

    Try this link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/real-estate/dc-apartments-rentals.html?hpid=bottomnav

It will take you to The Washington Post rental page. Here is the form you will see. I have select "roommates" from the drop down menu for Categories, and entered "metro" for Keywords. Then I selected VA since that is where you say you wanted to look.

If you want to specify locations in VA, try Alexandria, Arlington, and, lastly, Fairfax. Alex. and Arl. are near DC....Fairfax County can stretch for many miles to the west from DC.

Here is the link to the Metro system map so you can see the name of subway stations. Virginia has blue, yellow and orange lines. It is in the lower left of the map. ... http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm

Oh, you're interning for LCR? Well, don't look to them for help with living accomodations. The best they can offer you is a corner in the outhouse to which the repugnicans have banished them.

I live in Virginia. Try near the East Fall Church metro, or Ballston, on the orange metro line
